After the official reveal of Hot Toys’ first wave of high-end Star Wars collectible figures featuring the infamous struggler Han Solo and his best friend Chewbacca which were well-received by fans, we are moving the spotlight to the Galactic Empire for this new wave!

The carbonite only blinded him temporarily.

The short-tall combo is interesting, at least they're a little different. If the height is an issue, one could display them in poses to mask the difference.

I'll pre-order the set if it's $350. Knowing Sideshow it'll be $379.99 or something. I hope not.. It's only stormtroopers.

Our local dealer's prices are usually = or +/- $5-10 compared to SSC's, so you can expect the single to be around $200-$210 and the 2-pack for $400-$410.

I'm going to buy the single trooper. I find the tall short combo is such an homage to the luke/han in my kind and I'm not going for that with my StormTrooper. Just want one to display with Vader. I understand they were not clones, but it does look weird with the height difference. Plus, when Leia says to Luke "you look short for a StormTrooper" implies they are usually taller. Anyways, I never thought or noticed in the movies they had drastic height differences.

According to starwars wikia:

Despite the influx of new troopers from various sources, the ranks remained dominated by Human males, thus reflecting the New Order's Human High Culture. By 0 BBY, roughly one-third of the stormtroopers were clones based on the Fett template, while recruits steadily became the majority within the Stormtrooper Corps.[20] Service in the Stormtrooper Corps was open to both Human men and women, but female stormtroopers were an extremely rare sight under Palpatine's reign and on average there were never more than three female stormtroopers within a whole legion.[1].[21] In spite of this disparity, some female troopers served in elite units, such as the Coruscant Guard.[22]

They do look great, man. But unless I hit the big bucks or something most of this stuff is a pass.

I love how they been inserting things that are attributed to that character as an icon in the titles.

Hans blaster
Chewys bandolier/strap thingy
Stormtrooper helmet

I couldn't say one way or the other, but can any SW fanatic comment on the proportions of these Stormies, maybe vis-à-vis their SSC counterparts?

I remember earlier in the thread, after these first debuted at the VIP event at SB, there was some concern about proportions, which were chalked up to lens distortion.

These look pretty dawn awesome to my layman's eyes, but are these the best Stormtrooper figures ever made?

I'd say yes.
