My Luke Crait (oh boy that's a bad pun) arrived today and I gotta say I really dig this figure. There is something about the simplicity that gives it so much more presence and it really feels like the older Jedi Master Luke we would all like to have seen more of. Normally barebones figures irk me somewhat but I'm not sure what I would have added to this set that would have been an improvement. Perhaps swap out hair for a more neutral look.

As far as the sculpt goes, when the proto shots came out I was underwhelmed. Some of the in hand shots have been good but some have been terrible. In hand, I like it. Sure the hair and beard could use some more grey (good work davejames), but I am happy with what I got.

This figure may be as polarising as the movie, but I've come down on the love it side.

Some quick minimal futzing shots (a bit soft sorry). I'm like this pose. It has so much attitude and confidence.

The hands look much better proportioned in real life than in images.

Nice. I'm not a fan of the Bespin Leia outfit but would like that sculpt to turn my Hoth Leia into an escape Leia (plus the right boots).

Yeah haha, obviously I was being a bit cheeky by saying ?no one? . The film had its merits in places for sure.

I do think that the bad taste left in people?s mouths from the last Jedi unfairly tainted TFA though which I liked. I feel that the series will end on a high note making that movie more palatable though.

Someone should do an anti cheese edition of that film like they did with the prequels. Cut out all the Rose parts, yo mama jokes bizarre luke and yoda behavior, space leia... pretty much anything with Oscar Isaac and all that I bet the movie would seem much better

That will look nice. You’ll probably see that sculpt for a lot on the secondary market due to people wanting to do that exact same thing.

Digging the collection of shots, pizza! Natural light looks good on the figure.

I got this earlier in the week but haven't even cracked the box yet. Will this weekend.

Okay. Finally opened this up and....

I'm initially underwhelmed here. Part of the reason is some QC issues. I had to hunt for the saber hilt hook in the box and reattach it. While futzing the collar of the white shirt, the head snapped right off with no pressure on it. Both are fixed but....ugh. The candy cane er, Crait-themed re-purposed for the umpteenth time stand is very warped and does not sit flat.

By the time I got him futzed up for a couple shots, I was frankly a little frustrated so I'm certain that is coloring my initial impressions of the figure.

Here are some shots...I'll look at him more closely tomorrow. Just frustrating that so many of the HT figures I've received have had QC issues. We wait a long time for these and I'd wait longer if I knew it meant they would slow down and catch these issues. Okay...enough venting, the pics:







I'm sure it will look better to me with fresh eyes tomorrow. It's not bad now, it was just not fun having issues with him.
