The only way this would be kind of bad is if it turns out to be Cosbabies or Chubbies.

or SSC gives up the license.

an announcement of HT getting the license could equal an announcement that there are only 4 figures left to make and them all being remakes. :lol

I don't believe my wish of HT taking over is going to come true. I believe it's gonna be HT doing some and SS doing some. (or that SS will eventually pass the reigns.)

Either that or it's going to be HT doing those small 3 3/4 articulated SW figs :)

I'll say this, if an HT Star Wars line, not just one or two like I think we'll get with Indy but an actual line kicks off, I'll be a little upset looking at my shelves. I followed the Terminator line only to have HT redo it. I followed the Indy only to have HT redo at least Indy. Star Wars line other than the Dead was my most complete line from SSC and it'd just be another case of the same.

I know people will say "At the time...." or "You can have both...." or even "Well no one knew...." or "I'll display them both!" but in terms of space and cash and knowing that as soon as the HT figure hits my SSC will practically be unable to be sold at their retail prices it doesn't really help me.

I'm hoping for a ROTJ Luke but it'll make my three in my possession a little useless. :lol

Good, no need for SS to stop making them

If Sideshow hadn't made such a hoopla of their plans at Comic Con, I might fear this, but they seemed to be looking ahead at doing quite a bit with the line.

I have a feeling that if HT's pursuing Star Wars 1/6, talks are going on between the companies and things are moving in a friendly effort and not competitive. It could be that HT would even have to put out the figures under Sideshow's license like the T2 figures in order ot get around any possible conflict with Medicom and Medicom/Enterbay. HT might not be able to get a license themselves with Medicom having one, but it might be legally possible to do somehting through Sideshow, since their T2 figures are legal through Sideshow's license.

Yeah people would try to unload their SS SW figs which aint fetching much now anyways.

With you 100%, HT takes over and Im done with the line all together

SSC just won't stop doing them, their presentation at SDCC showed they are even venturing into uncharted territory with IG-88 and a few others. HT will be hitting up those that either SSC won't do like Chewbacca or the Droids (I don't see SSC doing a 1/6 Threepio or Artoo) or those they have done like ROTJ Luke or ANH Han Solo but SSC will continue on.

HT isn't really known for their deep lines, even the Predators or Terminators which have the most, have sprinkles from various films in that license. I see HT stopping before SSC ever does.

Exactly, Hot Toys will not replace Sideshow as a maker, they may replace old figures, or they may offer new ones, but Sideshow isn't going away because of it, they'll either get out of their own choice or for some reason, the license being taken away from them.

We've already seen another company come along and make new versions of old Sideshow figures and it was no big deal. Medicom Darth Maul, ANH Han Solo and ROTS Anakin were no big deal. And Sideshow has made figures of old Medicom stuff with Clones, Stormtroopers and Sandtroopers.

How come you have 3 Jedi Lukes?

He and Boba Fett are my favorite from the OT. I have the Tatooine look, DSII Look and I kitbashed a Legacy Ghost Luke. I even won Jedi Luke twice from chats and turned them down for alternative prizes (one was a Jedi Luke PF! :D) so there isn't a doubt I'd be going for at least two with an HT ROTJ Luke...the thing is that bashing stuff with HT always seemed easier.

Given good parts, I'd like to have Jabba's Palace Luke, DSII Luke and Endor Luke. I like those 3 looks of him from Jedi. DSII the most, something about the all black costume just looks really cool to me, ever since I was a kid, I like it even better without the vest from early on breaking that up. The Hasbro Endor helmet just looks too lame to be worth making a bash with.

hasbro endor helmet sucks indeed. unfortunately the head of ROTJ Luke is huge and won't fit in the SSC helmet.

If HT remakes the ROTJ Luke, I really hope it comes with all the Endor gear too.

I am kinda done with Sideshow items, so if Hot Toys does have the license or whatnot, great. Id pick up a Hot Toys Grievous, Vader, decent ANH Luke, etc

If this pans out to be something 1/6, I don't think there's anything to overreact to. I think one way or another, further efforts by HT in the 1/6 Star Wars world would be good for us.

So...your saying you see my point, then?

Honestly of any of the characters right off the bat I could see Luke being the DX of the line. With one figure you could have the option of the Jabba's Palace Luke and the DSII Luke but by adding an alternative HS with the Endor helmet and including the poncho you really have three figures in one that sounds right up the DX's lane.

Could just be a regular MMS release too. After the T-1000, we don't need DX to get a very thorough figure release.

I'm not going to argure the fact that Ht figures are awesome, But, except for Snowbunny Padme, I think SS has done an excellent job and I'm happy with their line, and don't plan on replacing any of their figures.

however, if Hot toys Does a Chewbacca that looks as awe inspiring as their Joker, Black widow or any of their Terminator stuff, than that he will be a MUST buy.

As much as i'm done with the PT, a HT Maul would be tempting indeed.
