Hi guys, thanks for the feedback! :D really useful!

So I've shortened the neck about 1/2 a centimeter. Not sure it's that obvious on the picture though. I used Wolverine as a template. So, what do you guys think? Enough or not?

Excellent! :hi5:

If Hot Toys does anything like this I will be very pleased. :)

Be very worried because this is their Indy and it's the same sculptor:

Another thing that's hurting HT is the PERS gimmick. Although the Indy is better than the Joker, they're still disproportionately large, and only look acceptable at certain angles/eye position.

Compare the BR head to the DX and tell me which one looks like a cartoon. Reeve didn't have Dakota Fanning eyes, so I hope they're abandoning this schtick.

That doesn't really mean much.
He's as prone to mistakes and failures as anybody else. The fact that he got Bruce Lee right did not mean he could do the same with Harrison Ford. And the fact that he didn't get Ford right does not mean he won't get Christopher Reeve right.

Now, if this is a case of HT saying "this is good enough, leave that sculpt be and move on to the next"... then all the CR fans are in trouble...

Newp. PERS is kinda part of what makes a DX a DX. Expect CR superman to has PERS.

All DX's to date have had PERS. Expect Reeve to have it and have the same issue.

Edit: Yup, what the My Little Pony said above. :lol

This isn't his first Rodeo with Indy though. Don't ignore that.

Be that as it may, it's a gimmick that detracts from the portrait (thus far.)

If they can work the bugs out, and it looks like Reeve to me, then I'll buy.

If it looks like that Indy above, I'm saving my scrilla.

Well, given your overall newb status for high-end, if I'd said Arnie Kim, I'm not sure you'd have known who he is. :lol:nana:

Pretty sure the point has been made more than once here. We all know it's the same sculptor that did the new and disappointing Indy.

Gonna drag this in (from the Indy thread) because I think it relates to the topic:

As I said earlier, Wolverine existed outside of Jackman. While the figure released was supposed to be Jackman, despite the iffy likeness, it still perfectly captured the essence of who Wolverine was/is. Indy isn't Indy without Ford. Period. And there's not enough Ford in that likeness. Especially when you consider the MSRP (I live in the U.S. so any UK comparisons are entirely irrelevant to me).

Like Wolverine, Superman existed outside of Reeve. And I want a well made, poseable Superman in my collection.

I will not be buying Indy for the reasons you state above, but if Arnie Kim can get as close to Reeve as he did to Ford (which is to say not all that close but kinda similar) I will buy this.

If the portrait looks like 16K's, I'll be on with Toys2 faster than you can say, "Kal-El."

All applause to 16k for his hard work, but pleases remember Erik Sosa is the genius behind that sculpt.
He's the one we have to thank for being able to put together these figures. And Moe's accurate custom suits.

Wolverine is a whole different beast (no pun intended) and likely the ONLY Wolverine HT will do, so fans of the character were stuck with what HT dumped out. If you just want a good Superman in your collection, go with the Returns release. The price is dropping anyway since this has been confirmed and he's a perfect counterpart for the BB/TDK Batman. Hell, you can easily find a decent square-chinned sculpt, buy a TTA, the Matty one and bash a great Supes if the Reeve likeness isn't important to you. So that excuse isn't really selling me. :lol

This is meant to be, specifically, a Reeve Superman. Expect this thread to go ape____ if HT halfasses Reeve's Superman the same way they did Indy.

I would, but Superman Returns sucked! :lol Plus I don't like his costume.

I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer to have Reeve specifically on my shelf, but a perfect likeness isn't as vital to me as it is with Ford.

Yeah, I think for most, not all, but most people wanting this figure, like Ford is Indy, Reeve is Supes to them. If the sculpt doesn't cut it there will be mass hysteria.

I think a lot of people on these boards over react. You know it's getting to be a little too much when people use the words "Mass Hysteria" to describe a bunch of 1/6 figure collectors. I love this hobby as much as any of you, but all of the _____ing and moaning going on is taking the fun right out of it. I come to these boards because I like to discuss this stuff. It's a cool hobby and I enjoy being in the company of other collectors, but some of the behavior over minor nitpicks with the Indy sculpt. To put it mildly, I've seen meat treated better by rabid dogs.

^^^ Off topic, and I'm not trying to start a fight, but why don't you use the space bar after punctuation?
