Message from Arnie Kim that he posted on Tuesday

Recently, Hottoys has to develop lots of project and rush to finish project each by each,
and it is the one of them, doing best to make Superman of Christopher Reeve that Fans are waiting for,
I know many fans doesn't want to ...have similar Superman as you can see everywhere,
yes, me either, once again, Hottoys promises to make best Superman ever !!

Hope the sculpt is better than the English.

Oh well, it's better than:

ht is trippin ballz wit mad props and 4 fanz we strivin 2b BEST.

So, does this mean we're going to have to wait a while? I'm not really sure what to gather from that post other than "Superman is coming."

If Arnie's Reeve headsculpt is as good as his engrish, we're in for a real treat!

Haters gonna hate.

Whiners gonna whine.

Apologists gonna apologize.

Me? If it looks great, I'll comment on how much I like it and purchase one. If it looks off or bad to me, I'm going to rip on it like there's no tomorrow.

Who the hell would want to hate on something just to hate it? I've been wanting a Hot Toys Reeve Superman almost as long as I wanted '89 Batman figures, why would I want to see them fail? Indiana Jones too. I'd love to love the Hot Toys Doctah Jones, but it looks like a turd and it's too expensive. Why should I praise something I don't like, especially when the majority views it from the same perspective? Because it's Hot Toys? Batman > Hot Toys, Star Wars > Hot Toys, Indiana Jones > Hot Toys, Superman > Hot Toys etc. I mean yeah, I love the company, but everyone makes mistakes. And it's also worth noting that they're just an OUTLET for the figures I desire. If a better company came out and produced better things, you better believe I'd drop Hot Toys in a minute (not the figures I currently own though).

Do people actually think collectors want to see things fail? That's simply not the case.

I get the feeling that certain members do indeed want to see Hot Toys fail, and get a certain perverse pleasure out of it. :(

I would, but Superman Returns sucked! :lol Plus I don't like his costume.

I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer to have Reeve specifically on my shelf, but a perfect likeness isn't as vital to me as it is with Ford.

I think we should expect a great likeness, especially when Erick Sosa shows how possible it is in this amazing sculpt.

A Reeve likeness is very important to me, if it's off then it's just another Superman figure, like the Matty one

I think it's more like how you hate certain football teams because you think their fans suck.

HT makes some really great stuff, but no doubt there is a spam thread issue because of the unbridled enthusiasm. That has caused some members to get sand in their ____.

"Your insight serves you well, bury your feelings deep down, they do you credit, but they could be made to serve the haters"

:lol

Wow, lotta HT pole squatting the last couple pages. :lol

I don't see anything wrong with holding a company to the standards they, themselves, set. :dunno

Holding the company accountable is expected however HT threads often become bashing personal preferences. People who like a sculpt or character selection that another doesn't is critized, called names for their purchase like their spending other people's money. Those who don't like a sculpt or character usually feel the need to justify their points with Photoshop corrections.

IMO silliness. People spending or not spending their own money are entitled to their opinion wihout justifying it to anyone on a toy board. You like a figure great, you don't like a figure that is great as well. Really who cares :cuckoo:

I just bought the Blu Ray recently and it was nice to see it again. Just some of the parts seem silly since they are so outdated and I was like 1 when it came out.
Being older now I sometimes look back at the old films and think man that was stupid. The part where sups throws the plastic wrap S symbol in part 2- "That was stupid". I still think the part where clark is still in smallville before he goes to Metropolis is one of my alltime favorite superhero movie parts of all time. Overall it is nice to own.

Some have said Superman Returns sucked, I have to disagree, just a matter of taste. I liked superman returns, I liked seing the updated effects and better outfit with no pit stains. Watching both the old and new as an adult I can honestly say that one is not better than the other. especially since its no fair comparison. I hope snyders knocks it out of the park. I just bought the returns V1 Sups cause I wanted a superman in my collection and I liked the movie. I am ok with the sculpt despite all the criticism and i'm neither an apologist or hater, just a mild mannered collector.

I would only hope this figure fails cause if it rocks my wallet can't afford it. Time will tell.

I do feel there is no better way to hold a company accountable for their product then doing it in a constructive and professional manner(odd saying this as I can be pretty immature every now and them. LOL). But, the all time way to stick it to them, don't buy from them.
I'm sure if someone told me my sculpts suck I wouldn't be, ok let me work on improving my quality. I'd tell them to go F themselves.
