no worries, and definitely not guilty - I don't have the disposable income to be a Hot Toys fanboy, though I kinda wish I did

dont even want to post there. while unsatisfied have point they reiterate indefinitely, seems hardcore brand fans unable to accept any negativity.

I don't know how I'd feel about a Christopher Reeves Supes that wasn't a spot-on likeness. In the Indy thread most of the outcry is because the likeness is so poor. The observation has been made that in Indy's case the accuracy is paramount, whereas with some other figures (Wolverine was the example) the likeness is not as essential to the character.

I'm on a tight budget, so even if the figure is totally kickass, I'll only be picking up the one. Unless it is outta sight kickass, in which case I might be persuaded to do the hard yards finding the cash for another. It'd almost certainly mean passing on another figure though, and I think we're in for a busy second half of 2011

Well I guess it all depends than how big of a Superman fan one is.

P.S. As for Indy, isnt this just the prototype yet? I mean cant we get a completely differrent better figure when it is released?

Maybe with a slightly revised headsculpt (I hope) but generally with HT, what you see is what you get, which is brilliant for 99.9% of their figures however when we're talking about icons, less than 100% screen accurate results in rabid nerd outcries - understandable to a degree but totally unreasonable and unrealistic for the most part...

Depends on likeness for me, as well. I'll probably get one no matter what, just because it will be a nice, high quality Superman figure, and I'm a Superman fan. But if they nail the likeness, I'll probably go for two. Depending on the number of alternate looks you can get from him, three is a possibility.

Seems pretty clear to me that they were overly optimistic about this. But as others have said--better that they hold off on this and get it right than release something that gets the same responses they received for Indy DX times 10 (because I figure some members will throw their feces at the computer if this doesn't do the character justice).

I don't know why they even bother. They end up selling it and calling it inferior anyway. Wait till the custom heads and clothes come along. The figure will have been crapped on like no tomorrow.

Yeh, I think after Indy everyone is happy for HT to take as long as they need to to get Reeves' likeness spot on. I am also curious to see how they've handled the costume.

It will be a DX, at least the DX image is shown on the teaser. Past that its really anybody's guess.

But if were a betting man I'd wager we'll get extras for a Clark Kent figure.
