Bruce Lee hs look identical to me. Clever move! 1 hs, 2 different outfits = 2 different figs = big$$$
you have to respect their genious!

Wheres Supes?

I don't think many Bruce fans are complaining too much because ultimately it'll mean more muscle bodies on the market as people buy each set and part them out.

Supes has got to be around the corner - otherwise the continual bumping of this thread makes no sense.

The bumping of this thread never made any sense.

So - should Chris come with a Superman Returns outfit too?

Discuss.

Superman Returns should be allowed to slip back into the forgettable morass of swampy craptitude from whence it was belched.

Apart from the questionable quality of the footage (The HD cams look awful on Blu) I quite like Returns as a footnote to the Donner movies.
There are some lovely moments in it, even though it doesn't work as a whole.

Not by me! :moon

Wise man call this "damning with faint praise," or "even stopped clock right twice a day."

Returns works better as a final chapter of the Donner series than as a first chapter for something else. For all of it's problems it's a better film than S:III or Quest For Peace. Chris Reeve's Superman never got a proper ending chapter. I'm glad Superman Returns was made for that reason.

"Quest For Peace?" Really?

I've passed stools that were better looking than that film.
It had a budget of about sixty-eight dollars.

"Superman Returns" had a budget of $209 MILLION.

No comparison.

Yet they both are steaming piles of fail. What's harder to do: make a crap movie with no budget or make a crap movie with a massive budget and $45 million in marketing? Singer wins! :dump

I'd say once the Salkinds fired Donner from his own project, the Superman film franchise was dead. Which is why I look forward to this Hot Toys figure: The iconic film Superman before the talentless fractured egos that run Hollywood studios sucked the life dry and whored out our childhood hero(es). Back when you could believe that a man could fly . . .

probably in minority, but thought non-donner superman sequel was better than the donner cut version. donner reveal was better, but rest of film was not.

I thought the plane scene and catch was spectacular. Due to modern technology. It never felt like some guy on wires in front of a back backdrop.

Best of all his cape went wild in the fast scenes and the way they got it right when he gets in below the nose.

I think you make a reasonable point. Lester's Superman 2 was a completed movie which frankly I enjoyed at the time more than the original. Donner's Superman 2 is a curio and although I loved it I'd have reckoned it was purely for fans only. I'm surprised it got even a limited cinema release.

Incidentally, quite some time since cool to talk in stilted speech a la Rorschach. Better response if speak normally. Rorschach talk for immature 14 year olds.

Don't panic and no hating on my question.
Has anybody heard anything on this? I just heard a rumor that this has been put on hold because of a problem with the Reeve estate about likeness?
Source of the rumor is the store that I usually get my HT figures from and said that he just found out about it today.
I'm looking through the net and see if I can find any other news about it.

That was pretty badass when he flew through the wing. But why wasn't anyone wearing there seatbelt? :huh

Yikes, but it wouldn't be the first time a rights likeness held up production.

PLeasE KeEp us posted, Mr. Jocose Jester...

And in response to the "Supe: The Revenge" post, I offer this:

Donner/Reeve Alley Genius

Umm ... yeah.

Actually, the lousy picture quality is because of the directors choice to emulate the soft focus look of the first film. The HD cameras themselves are not to blame entirely....although generally speaking film you're right, film looks better.

...and I agree with your assessment of the film overall. The movie never lived up to the promise of the plane scene, which was awesome.
