I believe that we will see some proto on comic con.
And the announcement will be during it as well.

Highly unlikely, Sideshow is the only one who displays Hot Toys' product at SDCC and Sideshow is not distributing DC product so they cannot show Superman.

I don't know, DC Direct had the DX Joker and Bats on display before.

Ahh true, I was looking at the wrong year earlier to see if they had shown them. Can't believe we've had the DXs for two years already.

Still though, the reveal of each one wasn't at SDCC. Either way, I don't really see Hot Toys waiting for a grand unveil on this one. They're an HK company, and for the most part, the overseas companies don't give a hoot about domestic conventions.

It's highly unlikely that Hot Toys would let DC Direct reveal their 'most anticipated' figure yet. How many times has Sideshow revealed a new HT figure that we've never heard of?? I can't think of any. Hot Toys reveals first, then distributors pick it up. That's just the way it goes.

They'll show it when it's ready. No sooner, no later.

However, that makes me wonder if we'll see the reveal before the con,and see the actual prototype in San Diego.

This is an american cultural icon. HT not promoting the CR Superman in some way over here in the states is inconceivable!

CR Superman is probably treated as a film license rather than a comic license. Sideshow is selling the Batman '89 CM stuff and that's DC, right? Film properties are different.

Does Sideshow sell the Hot Toys Christian Bale Batman figures? Those are a film property.

Those are mostly prop replicas, that, to be honest, may have been a bit too high-quality for DC Direct. In my opinion, the only reason DCD didn't import the Watchmen figures is because they knew they didn't stand to make a lot of money, With a license like Reeve, and even '89 Batman, the chances of Sideshow getting it over DCD are slim to none.

There is a teaser picture on the Hot Toys Facebook page, but it could be fake. It's not posted by Hot Toys, but it looks pretty good from what I can see. I don't know how to post it here.

Looks fake to me.

Didn't snake eater discover some tiny image when the Spider-man was previewed. That seemed more plausible than that mock up. Was it de-bunked?

Since we briefly discussed the Superman Blu-ray Anthology I thought I would point out it's official date is set for the US and specs have been published. From AICN:
