I just think it's ridiculous when the guy tries to give you and the rest of the moaners an update (when that's what most of you've been _____ing about) and you turn around and insult him.

You called me and Jaroto pathetic. I have never insulted anybody on this board.

Careful. Because Creecher had an aneurysm over a post I made like this in an Enterbay thread, Adoptascot got delete happy and deemed it "artist bashing." :cuckoo:

It's not like I said Arnie has cooties or anything. I'm not bashing him personally. But as you pointed out he took three years on a Bruce Lee. How can that be cool?

HT has lots of talented artists. Look at that Sweeney Todd sculpt. I'm not big on the character but that sculpt is a fine piece of work.

Thats how football fans go on. When they lose a game, insults/cursing to the players from the stands and want the manager fired. When the fans get the results they want from winning, best team and manager ever and want their autographs. Rinse and repeat.

I wasn't referring to the person who posted the update, I was referring to Arnie Kim, just because of what could possibly be a miscommunication problem on Mr.Kim's part(English isn't his native language, after all), you deem it appropriate to take things out of context. Also, it wasn't pathetic, it was pitiful, which was a perfectly suitable description of your and Jaroto's behavior.

Wow... Arnie is just trying to be humble and kind in all of his replies, you guys call him arrogant. Wtf is that?

Like mentioned, English is not his first language, and from the many responses he has written in Korean, he is indeed humble and sincere in how he addresses his fans. The fact that he even replies is something.

Just passionate, anxious collectors tired of waiting. I don't like artist bashing one bit but HT should never have published a Winter release date.

Even I'm anxious about this release, and I don't even collect Hot Toys. I'll definitely be getting this though. But I agree with you. They never should have released a date, if it isn't going to come true, especially with an announcement of this magnitude. I can understand unforeseen complications, but I'm beginning to wonder if it was just a poor planning on the part of HT.

Yeah, I know. Look, it is valid to call him a one-trick pony, bash and critique some of his sculpts and as a public figure who is leaned on to do work, he is not immune to getting crapped on with legitimate observations. Heck, it's part of the business and should be expected.

But to ridicule or pick apart his replies are just asinine. The guy is not fluent in english, and just the fact that he tries to explain things - albeit sporadically - it says a lot about him.

Heck, I wish HT would take such a tact; maybe even elaborate on why they promoted a particular figure and never ever gave the respect to their fan-base to explain why they are delays.

Take it easy people! the problem here is HT for posting and promising the Holy Grail of Statues figures whatever you call it, Arnie is not responsible for the late deadline as it is confirmed (?) in the supposed reply posted earlier, what intrigues me the most is this part "please wait more, until Superman releasing, my dear fans" hope is bad spelling because the "please wait more" is really a bad sign!

Arnie Kim said:
"please wait more"
Badly reminds me...

- IT HUNGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERS, for MOOOOOORE!

Well for collector it is still just a hobby while for football fan football is ~1/2 of his life... if not more :monkey1:lol

Im not sure if its just a hobby... specially when there are guys who consider themselves Arnie Kim fans. :slap In fact there are people who have got into financial troubles for collecting figures. :cuckoo:

The truth is you can go as far as you want. it doesnt matter if its called collecting, football etc...

Collectors are an impatient, entitled bunch to begin with (no offense to anyone in particular in this thread, that's just the way it is in my observations across collectible and toy lines). Hot Toys certainly did themselves no favors by releasing a promo promising to show something fans were dreaming about in a certain time frame and then failing to do it. The repercussions are less than surprising to me.

Avatar fans have been waiting longer than anyone, since 2009 ! Avatar fans got sucked into a time portal of purgatory, where time and space have stopped! There is no past, no future only unending WAITING ! You have to line up just to wait. And the line goes in a circle. You have to schedule an appointment and when you call they put on hold. Thats where avatar fans are right now

And Sucker Punch fans, they don't know what waiting is

Yeah, it would be nice if HT waited on announcements until they were, say, 2 or 3 months away from releasing specs and pics of a forthcoming figure. Seems that they might still be learning a bit about how the hype game works, and about how to best estimate their own timetable for cranking figures out.

Personally, I think they would benefit just as well if they didn't announce general licenses at all, and just waited until the first pics/specs were released to unload the news on everyone (as happened with T2 and T1 Arnold). Though they haven't had much of a history of announcing specific figures or licenses that they haven't come through on, the lack of news regarding licenses announced over the last year or so are starting to add up.

I hope Metal Gear gets done. . .
