Weren't we supposed to have pics for this in ......*so*..... many days, that have since passed?

Well to be fair HT said Winter. And though I hope to see something at the expo, winter didnt start until about a week ago and doesn't end until March so there's that entire span that Supes could be shown. That logic is all thats keeping me sane to not bombard their FB page with tons of "where is superman?" related stuff haha

Hahaha nearley had me, that film was a turkey, even forgot about number 4 must have blocked it out from my memory it was so bad.

Hot toys listin up, Superman then Zod then Non and Ursa and all will be well and the hostages will be released

I'd actually rather only have Superman.For the simple fact that I don't think Zod,Ursa and Non were as iconic as Superman himself.With films like Batman,you have colorful villains with rich stories and as much,if not more, screentime than Batman himself.With Superman,the main challenge is finding a villain that can be a threat,and IMO Zod and his cronies seemed like their only purpose was to be a formidable opposition.I mean,if HT makes them,I'll buy them,but in all honesty,I think a grail piece like this,or even Indy for that matter,look better on their own.

Your right but it would be cool to have Supes with the three villains even Luthor, i am a big fan of this movie i would pay 120 for an Otis or Ms Tessmacher,... i would like to have all of the character of that movie

I would too! I'm a HUGE fan of the first Superman movie! I'd gladly buy Superman, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and the 3 villains from Krypton...along with Lex Luthor, Miss Tesmacher, and Otis. Yep, the whole principal cast would be great! It's a "pipe dream" I think though. I expect Hot Toys only to do Superman...and possibly Lex Luthor. Then maybe a Jor-El (I hope!) in the black outfit with the white "S" on his chest, and a long clear light-up crystal. Since Hot Toys already has the Marlon Brando likeness rights since they made the Jor-El from Superman Returns already.

Well that's not typically true that they can do another Brando. As far as I know, likeness right are for that one movie only, they don't get the actors likeness right to any and all films that they do. I'm sure they can get if for the first film (if they dont already have it) since they've done a few Brando's already.

Perfect example of this would be Hot Toys having the likeness rights to Johnny Depp in what is now 3 of the 4 POTC movies, but those likeness rights don't transfer to any other Johnny Depp movie like say Edward Scissorhands in which they had to do an entirely different yet similar HS b/c they didn't have the rights to Johnny Depp's likeness for that movie

Or how originally they didn't have the likeness rights to Arnold Swarzenagger for T1 but release that Battle Damage one anyway, but now have achieved his likeness rights to go back and do the figure justice.

Of course all of that could be void if they have franchise rights to the actors likeness (which I think it's how it is for Johnny Depp in POTC) so who knows, just food for thought I guess

I'm not saying that you're not correct on this. However, Marlon Brando was long dead before Superman Returns and I'm pretty sure the footage they used was actually Forrest Gumped in from the original movie.

I have no clue as to where this falls in terms of licensing rights.

well what they did actually is took footage of Brando talking (if my memory serves me right from the Special Features) and from that, a CG head of Brando was made in terms of what he actually said (which was an old audio track with no footage) in SR, "son, you do not remember me...etc" the mouth movement and all that was a computer reconstruction.

but even so, the film he was "in" and licensed for was Returns...

I like the light up crystal idea.
Would be nice to have the green crystal aswell.
Lex luthor and superman would be a nice balance if they only did 2 figures from that film.
But like you I would love all the characters but I reckon we will get supes in suit and maybe a clark kent depending how much interest there is.

I plan to get a few pieces of selenite and form a display for Supes. If you have a rock shop near you it's a common crystal. Some places gouge on the price, so look around.

Selenite is translucent. It will glow any color you shine into it. Here's a chunk lit from below using some RGB LEDs.

Pretty Cool! Would look nice if you can set it up, to have the Rock as a base and as a Back drop Display with it lit up! Would really make the figure stand out in your display!!

Wow, you can get a red light and make a molecule chamber with it.

Isn't it weird that it's called a molecule chamber but harnesses the power of a red sun? Why not call it a "red sun chamber."
