Man, some people just have a lot of money. I went to the store that gets first stocks from Hong Kong, and the few they got yesterday, including the one that was supposed to be displayed went sold out fast, and those units had a $250 mark up on its tags!

I was really looking forward to seeing this on display. LOL

Even with the marked up price, I STILL believe scalpers bought up the stock.

IMO if you cancel because its a different size than EB then your going to be kicking yourself in the future because they will make more Batman figures at their scale than EB will. This is HTs first 1/4 and its practically sold out so I'm sure there will be more 1/4s from other films and all of them will be in scale with each other. EB is their competition and the odds are really good that HTs will make Begins and blow EBs away so people will get HTs. And once this sells out price will be through the roof. Plus posing side by side always looks weird to me because Batman doesnt have a twin brother :lol Give them both their own space and they will each have their own impact.

That's what I will tell myself as a reason to why they aren't posed together. :lol

Lol well even my 1/6 I don't have Begins next to TDK/R. I just like them all to have their own space. Less clutter. But that's just my opinion :)

I don't care that much how he measures up to EB Bats, but I would like to display this figure next to the EB Joker and going by this pic below he looks quite shorter than the EB Joker. So I think I won't be able to display him next to the EB Joker, which IMO is a shame. :(

Haha, well I don't want to judge by pics either, cameras tend to distort and make things look worse then what they really are, I'm sure at the end of the day both these figures will jaw drop!:hi5:

I think it might look better together in person plus that head of joker was designed to be hunched so the head needs to be tilted down. And in the movie I don't think Heath was much shorter then bale, he was a pretty tall dude 6'1" plus his shoes probably made him 6'2"-6'3" and he wasn't scrawny but slim so I think it could look better in person ;)

Ok, I have analyzed all the pictures with an NSA photo analysis program for comparing features while I had some time on the Cray this morning.

The results are conclusive. This figure, while amazing, is flawed. It is clearly a left-handed version of Batman. The problem is that Christian Bale is right-handed. Because of this, this figure is an easy pass for me. How could HT overlook something so fundamental?

*note* While this figure is exceptional, IMO, I won't get it. Space and money dictate that this can't be added to my collection. That, and every other figure I have is 1/6th, can't justify ordering it. To all those that get this figure, congrats, I hope you enjoy it!

I am working on video again with more lighting

Will post by monday midday

Thanks for taking the time to do this, Retaane. In addition to the lighting, if it's not too much trouble, could you do more side by side comparisons with the EB bats so we can get a better idea of the size difference? Thanks again and hope you're enjoying the figure!

Oh that's great news, BTW do you still have the EB Joker? The only reason I ask this is because I remember you were actually thinking about selling it, not long after you bought it. If you still have him can you do a size comparison with HT 1/4 Bats and EB Joker please?

Yeah I was also thinking maybe the EB Joker is closer to the camera there, making him appear taller than he really is. :dunno

How you pose Joker really matters. Here's my current set up, while I plan on NOT displaying QS001 with EB Bats, I plan having him by Joker. It's all on how you pose them, even Bats is closer to the camera, you can see Joker looking way shorter because I have him hunched.

Cool poses, if I were you I'd do the belt mod on Batman. Looks better imo:

Generally speaking, HT figures have historically been slightly undersized while EB has been slightly oversized. I own figures by both companies & that's just the way they do things. Heck, the new SS joker is slightly bigger than bulkier than the DX12.

That being said, I still plan to try & display 1/4 TDKR bats next to my EB Joker....I have him hunched over pretty good so we'll see.

Yeah bale is 6' probably had 2" soles to make him 6'2" then how ever big the cowel/ears added to the height.

I think enterbay got the scale correct. I don't think hot toys cares at this point they make better money at. 1:6 anyway, probably pump them out much faster, I doubt hot toys will do a 1/4 begins and joker :( probably take a very long time to receive if they did.

Well, Kato, the tailor on the DX 11 Joker suit, said that they were working on a 1/4 scale Begins Batman when a member on these boards, iMan, talked to him. Not to mention that, around the same time we got our look at the 1/4 scale Bruce Wayne head WIP (and Hulk), and some others, there was a picture of one of HT's team members looking at reference photos of the "docks" scene in Batman Begins.

Honestly, though, I know that 1/4 Scale isn't their preferred scale, but, after seeing how this figure's being received, they'd be kind of crazy not to pursue at least one more, from a business standpoint.

Awesome, man! That was a great review but I was dying to get a better look at the figure. With that being said, I think your video was perfect to show how badass it looks when properly lit (the shadows covering half the face were awesome).

I think if they did bane it be amazing! But I feel hot toys just had sooooo many licenses as well as upcoming marvel and Dc movies I just wouldn't hold my breath for a begins or joker from them:dunno if I'm wrong great! We all win but they just excel so much more at 1/6 and the community is just soo much bigger, and kinda financially better for ppl? Which I know is a joke for $200 figures haha

I don't think it matters what licenses they have; at the end of the day, HT are a business, and they'll shove whatever they need to on the backburner if it means pushing something through that will make more money (Case in point: Iron Man Vs. Arkham City, Returns, X-Men, etc.), and, considering the fact that this guy is selling faster than the only set of Hotcakes at a Pancake Festival, I'd say there's a safe bet we may see more in the coming months.
