2 more weeks to go! :( Mental notes - looks most realistic with the head turned, semi-open mouth. Lose the cape - use backpack and sticky bomb gun. Leave rest in box, never touch. Don't break. Save up for P-O of Keaton by SS. Pray that HT continue the quarter line. Remember that I'm an atheist. Heightened awareness of mortality. Buy more collectibles. Don't ignore girlfriend so much. Donate to charity.

Mine has the exact same problem. Left pectorial has a matte finish like yours, and can't see much of the pattern underneath, but the right one is shiny and very clear. Very annoying, but I didn't wanna go through the hassle of returning to Sideshow as its an exclusive, so I've learnt to live with it. I haven't tried to rectify it incase I ruin it, but there are 2 possibilities. You can try polishing the dull side so it matches the right, or you can apply some matte varnish to the shiny aide so it matches the left. Problem is I'm unsure of what product to use to polish the dull side, but I'd say this would be the easiest option if we knew what product to use.

Also, depending on how its lit up, it may not be noticeable. I noticed if you light it from above with led spotlights or the like, its not too noticeable.
Yep, I don't want to return if possible.

Agreed, under lighting from above the pattern shows through even on the dull side. But in normal lighting it is quite dull.

The only fix id attempt really is to try and polish the dull side. But I can't really tell if by rubbing it, if that is taking off any of the finish, or that's just fear getting to me! :lol

I'm pleased to say the uneven ab armour looks like it could be rectified with A LOT of futzing and manipulating with the suit, maybe even breaking a few glue seams.

But man what a figure. Every bit as good as the enterbay 1:4 and I regard that as one of the best most realistic figures I've personally ever seen.

Might just try to do that ab mod on the weekend. Some bourbon in hand, of course.

So, should I just be able to reach the ab section just by ungluing the top armor and unzipping bats? I never did that with the dx 12 so in not familiar with how this works. My ab section looks just like yours, and it is hard to un-see now that I watched this vid.

Thanks for the futzing tips! Those knee pads were driving me nuts too!

Well that's the problem, I can't tell if it's just clear plastic, or if it has some sort of clear coat over it. If I knew it was just clear plastic, then no problems, just rub some plastic polish on it, but if it's clear coated don't wanna risk it lol.

Yeah, the figure is amazing isn't it :)

Good vid mags.

Good video, Mags. While I don't see (or am bothered by) the issues you have with it, the futzing tips are great. Much appreciated.

Great video Maglor, had a quick flick through and will definitely use if I have any issues with mine when it arrives :hi5:

Yeah Manglor, that was an amazing posting. :goodpost:

Thanks for uploading your video Maglor! The extremely detailed cape installation, knee pad centering, and height adjustment will definitely come in handy for everyone with this figure. :clap

Thanks fellas. :duff

Sorry to see that you are letting this guy go. I would have loved to see your extensive mods on it. I think a lot of people are wary of doing anything to it because of how expensive this figure is and how it will affect its resale value. But what you did for the EB figure really elevated it for everyone who got it. The shimming of the shoulders seems pretty straightforward, so I may try that. As for the padding the lower abdominal area, stitch-ripping looks doable since the belt will cover the restitching job anyway. I just need this figure to come in now. :impatient:

Really nice of you to say.

It wasn't an easy decision. And I would really like to see before and after shots of my mod ideas. They might look horrid for all I know. :lol

[Edit] Regarding ripping the waist seam, I do think removing the chest armor would be easier and cleaner. See post below. VVV

Such a shame. With all the recent photos, I would have kept it. As it's truly gorgeous.

I like the modded Enterbay figure so much more. Made the decision easier and less painful.

Great vid Maglor :hi5:

Its funny, when i got my Bats yesterday I thought my suit was totally screwed with the way the pads sat on the knees.

Did exactly what you said with the suit and looks great now.

Awesome! :hi5:

My abs however seem fine to me, as does the rest of the figure. An absolutely beautiful figure I must say.

I will likely order or attempt to make a different cape though. It looks great on the shelf but when I turn the lights on it really detracts from the figure. It will work for now though.

Definitely glad I pick this one up. Hopefully they make a 1/4 scale Bane in the future to go with him.

Just to be clear, you mean that yours looks the same as mine, but it doesn't bother you? Just want to make sure, because if it's only an "issue"* on some figures I would note it in the description for the video.

It seems like it would have to be consistent across all figures though. Seeing the picture of the padding underneath, it's all one jumpsuit. So it's not like it could be a shirt bunching up on some figures and not others.

I just think the tapering in it does towards the bottom (that bothers me so much) is just due to the shape of the True Type underneath. It's the top of the hip-joint where the figure naturally tapers in. With a harder abdomen it wouldn't be an issue, but the soft armor really hugs the shape of that area. I actually like that the abs are softer than the DX12 - it just needs a double layer of padding in that "problem"* area.

Very cool.

I definitely think that's the way to go over the seam ripper idea.

You just break one glue seal, and then you should be able to take it off over the opposite arm. Re-gluing that would be cleaner than resewing the waist line.

Once you have the upper armor off, the zippers should make peeling the suit down to the waist pretty easy. Then it will just be a matter of adding material/pulling the shirt back up to check abs, adding material/pulling the shirt back up to check abs, etc until you get it looking just right. I would think you would need to add padding/cotton all the way across that area, and probably even around the side a bit. Don't forget to check how the belt is fitting as you go along too. Would suck to get him glued back together and find out the belt no longer fits. :panic:

Don't think that will happen though. There's a big gap above the belt if you hold it in a vertical position.

Keep us posted. :duff

Thanks for the futzing tips! Those knee pads were driving me nuts too!

To be fair, it was another member that talked about how to fix that first. Same goes for the longer boot idea.

I thought maglor is british...

I am. I do a pretty convincing American accent though...

Feel real stupid but how do I open the belt to get around his waist? With the amount I spent on him, I’m being extremely cautious

It clasps in back. It's hard to describe exactly where without a picture.

Looking at the back of the belt, it attaches in the exact middle with the left hand side laying on top of the right hand side. There are three little rectangles in the middle - grab on either side of these with each hand and twist a little. You'll see right away how they fit together.

i’m twisting but nothing seems to be happening. I’m scared lol
