Not everyone has your skills! :lol!

I'm not saying they should be all artsy and what not, but if you're trying to do a comparison and review, you don't want to use shots with significant lens and perspective distortion,

This makes the T-800 look all stubby, and anyone with the figure knows it looks nothing like that.

Thanks for the links and pics guys. I wonder how easy it would be to put the new Hot Toys head on the original Sideshow buck body..

Why would you want to put the HT head on the Sideshow body? To save money and just get a new head for the old figure?

I think my favorite is the guy that had the insane, massive alley dio for the TDK figure shots, the photos and the dio work were just crazy.

Pretty much.
I just won this auction.

I pretty much just wanted the stands, T-1000 police belt and T-1000 shirts so I can bash a second t-1000 when the hot toys figure arrives. Since I get the Sideshow sarah anyways, I was hoping to salvage the figure in some way(especially since i had not ever intended to pick up the Hot toys Sarah anyways since it was too much money for me). The joints and clothing on the sideshow figure don't really bother me, just the headsculpt slightly...Would you know if the Hot Toys head could be easily place on the sideshow body?

I think the ball joints are the same size but I'm not sure, not often you want to explore putting an HT head on the female buck, it's just a horrible body, it looks like no woman's figure on the planet.

Fair enough. I will play around with it when it arrives. Normally I would not bother, its just cause I will have the figure anyways. If it looks that terrible, I will just sell it on and hopefully recoup most of my money on the deal.

As great as his photography is, I think I admire the dios just a bit more, he turns a lot of random bits into some amazing real looking and impressive displays. The Iron Man assembly stuff is crazy. Someday I want to develop some common looking dio bits that can be used for multiple licenses, lack of environments to shoot within hurts my work, the plain backdrops get old and superimposing into photos isn't the same.

Well, judge for yourself, I just can't stand it, sadly, it actually can do some really nice poses by the poor proportions and representation of the female body just makes most figures on it look bad.

Even the most anorexic fashion model isn't that tiny at the waist.

Start getting creative then, get out of the house with real scenery day or night shooting sun sets in the background or casting light and shadows onto the figures, buildings and all that in the background. Moonlight on the figures with real scenery behind them etc

Surely you must have photography clubs near you...

Yea. Maybe if I stuff her in some spots, it can help the proportions. Ah well, no biggie. Along with the Hot toys narrow shoulder truetype i ordered, I should have teh makings for two awesome t-1000's come release day.:rock:rock

LIke I said, judge for yourself. Sarah's not too bad on the Buck for the toros, the body issues with her are the arms being too skinny, even more so than seeing joints, and the head being misproportioned to the body.

I'm actually starting to change my mind about the HT portrait though, I love Trevor's work, and compared to the proto shots HT took, I still feel he bested their effort, but now seeing them both in hand and shooting them side by side, I lean towards HT's as a better portrait, even on a raw sculpt level I think some things are probably working better, but, Sarah was on of Trev's first efforts at Sideshow and considering that, still better than some work of people who've been doing this stuff for years.

The sideshow figure is what it is...If there are easy upgrades for it, then I am all for giving it a shot...I would have no problem posing it next to some of my favorite hot toys figures....

Not really, I live in the middle of nowhere :lol

The trouble I have with dioramas is I don't have a good instinct for thinking of things that could work, like people around here come up with ideas like fishtank parts and stuff that when they reveal what they used, I'm amazed they ever thought to do it. I think some day I'll just scour pet supplies and things like that, I know that's where some people get trees and things like that. I wish ready made 1/6 brick wall existed. I considered Sideshow's Waypoint dio but it's too little for what it costs and what I could do with it.

So will I, I'm turing my Sideshow Sarah into Pescadero Sarah, I bought her, she's not even worth trying to sell, might as well get some use out the figure. The Sideshow T-1000's really the only figure I've yet to come up with some way to still put to use.

I'm glad I sold my Sideshow Sarah now. She wasnt terrible, but there is no comparison.
