Actually the T2 marketing apparently gave that away in the run-up to the film aswell. Although I think some people missed it and were still able to be surprised. I wouldn't know, I was too young and into TMNT at the time, but so I've read.

No bombardment of internet since the web was only just over 1 year old then.

SPOILER..................

Guys, this battle damage is correct to the dark hair younger pops. He had this damage when he gets the skin melted of his arm and he can't time travel. The skin grows back by 2017 when he had grey hair. Then he gets more intense battle damage like in the NECA sculpt.

Good sculpt/likeness or not, I would never put this "Pops" with my T1 and T2 collectible figure collections. Not after earlier today. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm a fan of the current Arnold anymore, so I probably shouldn't say I'm a fan at all. I'll stick to his 80s and 90s classics and try to remember him in that way. That cool badass that was actually in movies that I grew up with and loved.

If I had a gun to my head forcing me to buy Genisys product, I'd sooner buy a Genisys Asian T-1000. He might not be in it that much, but he was the only one that seemed to be sincere in his performance and had a decent resemblance to the character from 24 years ago (well, when he was in default cop mode anyway). Passing on any collectibles from this movie, Hastal la vista baby.
Odd as basically all the reviews I've read (including the negative ones) give Arnold major credit as the best part of the film. I get that some might like his stuff from his prime more, but I think he is trying to give his performances since his comeback his all. Of course he's more limited to what he can do but he's also 68 years old. The guy is still pretty badass to me for an old man. I'm going to see the film shortly and am stoked.

I guess that is true that the marketing for Judgement Day gave away that Arnold was the hero rather than the villain. I think that was slightly different though as that was during the height of his popularity and he helped sell the film and most likely went over better as the hero. In Genisys it's sort of odd because while the John Connor character is a large part he's not really the star that's being users to sell the film. So they gave away a twist for no good reason. Just my opinion at least.

According to the DVD extras Arnold being the good guy was purposely made to be a "poorly kept secret".

Nope. The battle damage on this figure is from later in the movie, after he
dove through the helicopter.

This is the battle damage from early in the film.

Hot Toys also gave him the same sunglasses that he's wearing in one of the posters.

^is that a flipped shot or something? I thought that particular BD was on his other side in one of the trailers

Seems like it's gonna be hard to keep track of the battle-damage on this one. We probably won't get headsculpts for each phase.

Hopefully HT gives us the fully battle damaged look. Heck, I'd probably even get a T3 Arnold if it was full BD.

After seeing the film I still do want this but the price is putting me off just like what DOFP Wolverine did to me. They captured the hair color correctly but I think the Battle Damage Sculpt is more accurate near the middle and end with the Grey. As an Arnold fan I so want this but that price is killing me. I know when I have it in hands I'll be very pleased. Decisions I may just wait to build up some reward points to get him below $200.

The HT Guardian figure comes with his screen accurate "I've been waiting for you" face and the non-screen accurate movie poster head as a bonus.

You can decide if you want him to match the movie or the poster.

Nope, and the photo you show is mirrored. That battle damage gets worse when he loses the arm skin, the hot toys is correct.

Really liked the film a lot. I'm hoping we get the older version of the Guardian in addition to this one. I agree that the battle damage on this one is going to be hard to cover as he gets pretty messed up and has quite a few looks in his damaged state. I'm curious which ones Hot Toys will cover.

I sort of wish this figure had an interchangeable endo arm in addition to more battle damage on his face so it would match the scene with the T-1000 during the alternate 1984 timeline.
