looking at this pic, it sort of looks like someone pasted a new label onto the stand. the color doesn't match the rest of the stand... the plot thickens.

Dang Reiny...good eyes!
So far it's not looking good IMO. That's not cool of Hot Toys to get our hopes up like that! :monkey2

Where was this figure displayed and by whome? It could just be a figure somebody displayed where the movie was playing. The base is a mystery though since Connor nor Marcus is out yet.

I'm afraid you may be right about that...

Let's look at it from the positive side, maybe they set this figure up on that base as a teaser of something good to come...

I'm wrong huh?
Do you mean this?

That's no T-800, and that's not a pulse rifle.

You're right. That's an FN2000 the Endo's holding. ;)

This is not the TS T-800 I wanted.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

I heard that! Bring on the naked man!

(that sounds gay, but I'm not. I swear. No, really)

If they do naked Arnold, do you think they'll get the likeness rights for his junk, or will they give it some kind of panties? Or will it just be like a Ken doll? He was sort of Ken-like in the movie, unlike Dr. Big Blue ^^^^^ Manhattan.

Wasn't the fleshed over T-800 wearing bikini undies just like Marcus? The only reason he'd need to be naked is time travel. And it'd be interesting to see if they'd go with a straight Arnie or if they'd do a Roland/Arnie hybrid for screen accuracy.

As for the parenthesised part, sure bunky! :p

yeah, i'm really hoping i'm wrong in this - i missed out the first time and would love one - but at the same time feel bad for all those who spent tons of cash on getting one on the secondary market.

with Hot Toys, you just never know!!

oh, and if it turns out that it just was some guy who pasted a label onto the stand... well, that guy can go f$%k himself. :lol

Well if they do re-release at least I didn't pay over retail for my T-800. But that would suck for those who spent $350+ for one.

Also if they do re-release it would make me sad that I didn't unload my original before the price drops :lol

I'm pretty sure he was totally naked, but they obscured the groin area in shadow. Why the hell would Skynet give a crap about Terminator modesty.

It would be acceptable if they reused the Dtuch figure, but they would have to create a rubber lower body. It would be perfect if they could do a full skin job with no seems. Not happening though.

I'd like to see SS do a naked Arnold statue (I can't believe I just said that), but they would surely give him panties.

I really doubt they will. Was the OG suited Batman from TDK a straight re-release?

They're computers. Clearly they cared enough about modesty to become self aware and save themselves. Why else would the terminators need to redress. As for reusing Dutch, um....no. I'm still not thrilled with the face on that one (too smushed) and not only did Arnold look younger, but the hair is all wrong.

This was displayed in China at the movie premier. I think theres a link on their Facebook page. It was probably just displayed to show it off. Its not the first time they've displayed figures which are out of production. Remember Superman being shown next to Iron Man at the toy conventions ?

/end thread.

The Terminators redressed in order to blend in with the rest of humankind, there's no sense of modesty there. The T-800 in Salvation didn't have to worry about that.

Computers don't have junk to be modest about, why would they care? They don't get embarassed. Monkeys are self aware, and they don't care about dangling their junk. The only reason Terminators get dressed is to pass for human, since most humans don't walk around the streets or post nuclear debris fields in the buff.

As for Dutch, I didn't mean the head, just the body. Of course the likeness is off for a T-800.

would tey go to the trouble of adding stickers to stands and stuff though ?.
Thats the only thing that I find strange.

No the TDK was an upgraded figure... I think so far all of the re-released figures have differed or at least been a clear variant.

Somewhat like the T-700 is really just the T-800 with a different paint scheme. But I could see them trying this... and they would definitely make money on it.

The stand says "Terminator Salvation" but yet the little card in front of it says "The Terminator" as in part 1. This is not anything official imo. Plus that T-800 is identical to what I have on display right now, its the same figure and weapon released by Hot Toys years ago.

The stand is custom too.
