Yulli has sculpted all of their Ledger Jokers.

I'm not glad. Hot Toys has their head too far up their own *** to get some one better, so it'd be nice if she could finally do her job right after many, many attempts.

The only good Ledger sculpt she's done is Joker 2.0's laughing head. After his fantastic QS001 they should've given this to Kojun or whoever did their new Begins Batman.

I wonder why they never got K.A. Kim to sculpt a Ledger head when she was working for them.

Maybe Ledger is just hard to get right. The other sculpts I've seen from Prime 1 and Enterbay are far from perfect either.

Because they care more about promoting Yulli than getting the likeness right on their Ledger sculpts. Thus, she will get first preference over any other sculptor when it comes to Ledger's Joker.

Looks like it, Adam is the only one to pretty much nail Ledger's likeness, which is why people pay big money for his sculpts.

EB has it pros and cons, hence while some will hate that sculpt & some will like it, but the biggest problem with EB's is the head shape. As for Prime one's sculpt, I wouldn't go as far as to say it is far from perfect, nor would I say it's perfect either. However, I would say it is the most accurate mass produced sculpt there is, since it has the best resemblance to Ledger.

I hope this and the 1/4 Batman Begins come packaged with the foam inserts that the QS001 and old DX figures had. Pretty much all their 1/6 figures use the cheap plastic clam shells now.

Yeah. It's off-putting how a release like this was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Yulli and JC Hong making Joker dolls, rather than, well, the 10th anniversary of the movie. :lol

I was wondering this as well.

If I'm not mistaken foam inserts is the standard for HT's QS line save for the potted Groot, while plastic tray's been the standard for their 1/6 figures except the DX line.

So are we all expecting this to release sooner rather than later? Do you think Joker and the Batman Begins will release simultaneously?

I think the freaks are being a little too freakish on this one. Buzz kill thread 4sho.

Not sure how long you've been visiting the forum before actually joining in, but if you were able to follow the thread for QS001 Batman, you'd know that this thread is very tame.

And to be fair, the freaks sing praises when a figure truly deserves it.

This is the roller coaster of every HT thread (especially Joker). The initial reveal is met with cries of not good enough, HT fixes somethings they were probably going to do anyway but it's still not enough for some. Then the figures releases and sells out and 8 months later its $1000 on eBay.

I see all the time how Hot Toys supposedly has never done a good Heath Joker but I also see pics on Facebook and such all the time showing HTs Joker trying to pass it off as the real thing and no one notices.

Nah it's just that I was looking at it at BBTS and I got tempted to buy it because of all the different scenes you could create and then I came here to see some of the feedback and I wondered if I was looking at the same figure. In picky too. That's why I don't own a Boba Fett yet.

Unless one of the 'things' HT fixes is likeness then the complaints are warranted.

Some people see a dark knight joker sculpt and don't seem to care (or notice) it's not Heath underlying.

Others want it accurate.

I personally think that this apparent "negativity" on this thread is borne out of frustration, not hate for no reason. Since 2012 people have waited for HT's QS Ledger Joker to pair with their QS001, more so after QS001 was released with a total overhaul that made people forgive the long delay and forget the mediocre prototype. It's one of the reasons why many people passed on the Enterbay version thinking that HT would release theirs soon and would definitely look better. It didn't happen as soon as they have thought, and it seems that a lot of people didn't find it as good looking as they had hoped.

Bottom line is if you really like the figure as is, no amount of negativity from others' opinions can and should make you think otherwise. Very much applicable to movies and its critics, too :)

The 1/6 version does look better. I think what it is is the almost neutral facial expression on the 1/4 and the placement of the hair. The 1/6 looks more lifelike.

Or maybe others have a different opinion and do see Heath in the sculpt.

It looks plenty like Ledger to me. I'd like a little more expression to really capture the essence of the character but I think that about most HT neutral sculpts.
