And I thought InArt's QC was bad...

Yup! Like I said previously, it's unforgivable. The saving grace for me is that I like the majority of this figure, but still sucks to be in a similar position as I was with the InArt heads needing to have the hair redone. HT fumbled the ball on the hair for this as much as InArt has on other releases when it comes to the hair.

Based on a lot of the (vocal) feedback, it seems like Hot Toys may have been a bit overly ambitious with this project. I'm optimistic that they (and their factory) will figure out how to deliver the intended quality to customers, eventually. But for now, with this project, it seems like the growing pains hurt.

I wonder how many will have wished they'd ordered the sculpted version instead.

I can see why they've pushed back the Artisan Anakin. If that figure comes out and the hair is a mess, the blowback will be insane. There's no reason a limited figure should have issues like we're seeing here.

The rooting looks really good on mine.......and then the disappointment of a massive chip in the paint right on the nose. I was really excited for this release. Damn....

I am actually waiting for a replacement head for the imposter joker with rooted hair. Same issue on the nose it's wierd

Curious if your imposter has the noticeable hairline issue?
Hadn't heard any mention of the hairline issue when the imposters were being delivered and talked about.

Here is the HT Artisan display figure. Looks like a direct hair root to scalp. How can they show this, then go ahead and send out these half baked hair lines??

Loving mine, only had him out the box for half an hour but I think it’s great.
No regrets selling the Inart version.
Biggest gripe so far is the lack of clenched fists for him but otherwise it looks amazing on the shelf

Yep. Rooted hair still isn't ready for prime time imo. Which is why I still avoid it at all costs. For every good one you see, there's fifty more that don't look that great. Crazy to what degree the differences can be. I applaud anyone who just enjoys futzing with rooted hair, just not really my idea of a good time though, idk.

Dig the base wish hot toys would include batterys option w usb port. Not best at pix i know ha ha.. i couldnt get joker to rest shotgun on shoulder for tonights entertainment type pose was going for.

Sideshow offered a replacement full figure for some issues. That was last week not sure what they’ll offer now but they have full figure replacements given you send yours back.

They got back to me today. Love Sideshow's support! They offered a replacement head sculpt, a full refund with returning, and/or a $50 credit and keep it how it is. I'm going to get the replacement head sculpt since I'm not confident I could repaint as well.

Congrats! Hopefully the replacement has some good hairwork as well!

Making more after announcing it is a limited run never sits right with me. Just don't say it's limited, don't lie to your customers by trying to FOMO them.
Fu** that. Make enough figures for the people or prevent the known scalpers from purchasing them until the normal collectors have put in their orders first. Half the copies go to scalpers that just want to screw people. HT shouldn't be in the business to make scalpers money, but to instead please real collectors. The figure would hold its value regardless. Just not going to jump in price 40% the day it releases instead a few years later as it should be.
