^well now hang on a second, that's where I'd have to step in. Preference for T1 is all well and good but T2 isn't exactly short of 'iconic' stuff. The movie poster alone is as iconic as anything from T1.

I dare not compare T1 and T2. That's kinda like comparing children. Both are awesome in different ways. One is a horror the other is essentially The Iron Giant.

I'm not getting into that either. Just making the point that something being ''iconic'' isn't dependant on one thing being better than the other, it is purely based on ''recognition'' factor. T2 has at least as much if not more recognition factor than T1. Objective fact.

Well actually, CollectorGuy is right about that one. It's science. Sorry.

arg - T1 vs T2... why cant we agree they both are iconic. But if i go scene by scene - T2 was so much more fun for me. Having said that Tech Noir and the PS version is a grail. So i say... let go off some ironman from your collection :whip (probably donate at good will) and accommodate this PS...:lecture

Arnold starting losing his edge when he started slimming down. He was just so badass in Conan, T1, Predator, Commando. Then he made Twins, it was a crossover hit, and he started softening up. Total Recall and T2 were the last films he made that still had a little bit of that 'super man' thing left..then he just became kinda normal and a bit silly.

I'm more of a T2 guy because I remember watching it with my brothers a lot when I was younger. Still love the first one though and understand how tough it can be to choose. So I just recommend not doing it! Both are fantastic

Yeah, some good points there. Up until 1990, he was still very much a larger than life personality - literally. I guess by that stage he was moving into the next phase of his career, which didn't include intense weight training anymore or the regime involved, because he was a movie star first & foremost at that point.

There will never be another Arnold - or Stallone, for that matter. Us Gen-Xers have / had the best of both worlds.

hmm T1 was legendry...

but T2 had... Arnold on harley, "Bad to the bone", galleria mall show down, the LA chase scene, escape from prison, cyberdyne, truck chase, steel mill epic fight sequence and yeah... bugger chops his arm and drags a rod all through for his mission. The epic ending with the thumbs up...
last but not the least... crazy ass T1000

once again i love T1 but come on scene by scene no movie can beat T2... :(
