Expendables wasn't bad. It's a throw back to the muscle head cheese ball guy films, I don't think you'll necessarily hate it.
Yeah, I guess the sensitive, introspective modern film hero would be more acceptable to the hipster generation than some macho bad asses who like to flex their muscles as a show of their machismo, and sure, maybe have sex with each other every once in awhile.
I have no interest in the Expendables. As much as I love '80s action movies, they belong to that era and should stay in that era, where the Cold War could be won, not with a nuclear strike (as if that were even possible), but with a one-man army dispensing cheesy quips and thousands of rounds of ammo.
World War III
Expendables is a great example of that. To me, it's almost an extension of the Predator team, minus the Predator. I have yet to see Expendables 2 and 3.
I find 2 to be just ok for the first 2/3, the final act is just full of awesome, and I thoroughly enjoyed the 3rd from start to finish. Best moment in the whole trilogy is the combining of Sly, Arnold and Willis in action during the end of 2 though, the whole series is worth it just for that.
