Well, it was only two hours :dunno

I have both, I like them both. Both have their flaws, (awkward body on the T-800, paint on RoboCop) but they don't really bother me in person. They both have great shelf presence, and both problems can be fixed with mods (neck widening mod on Arnold, repaint for RoboCop, though you'd have to pay extra for that).

Yep, well said, cmiller.

I'm a bigger Terminator fan than RoboCop and have both, but between the two if I had to choose... I'd have to give the edge to Robo, since it's likely it'll not be made again and in-hand I don't even notice the paint. Both are very cool figures, though, and reasonable, too (really surprised both are still available on SSC's site). Kind of a good thing for you if you're at all conflicted about it, vodoun. You can pick-up one and track the other down months from now for a fair price, I'm guessing.

The Terminator in the theatre was the bomb, yo. It's the one that I couldn't see back then as I was 5 at the time.

Same with my experience with Predator, when you grow up watching a movie dozens of times, you'll tune out to a bunch of the details. Going and watching it on the big screen where you are focused 100% on it, it's like seeing it for the first time. Also, I don't think I've ever watched it at home at a decent volume. I heard sounds in the score I've never heard before. The shotgun blasts to the cars were epic in surround sound. My wife laughed at me when I told her I swore I never heard the 'I put a cigarette out in it' line about the cold coffee before. Like I said, you watch the same movie since you were 12, you gloss over the little things.

Such a great movie. I need to watch T2 on the big screen again. It's been about 25 years since then and I'm so burnt out on the movie at home I want to see it with new eyes too.

I haven't seen Robocop in-hand. I bought with Terminator because I'm such a fan of the source material, but the figure is flawed. Biggest issues for me are the neck size (too skinny), lack of undamaged shirt, and paint apps on the damaged head (should be more pale). But you can improve this by padding the neck with some cotton, and you can switch out the stock shirt with a gray with from the T2 T-800.

From what I've read, seems like Robocop's biggest drawback is the inaccurate paintwork. But it still looks fantastic.

If you just want the best figure out of the box, you might want to go with Robo. But Terminator is a better film, and a much cooler character. Jacket can zip up on Terminator, in case you didn't see that done, so you can do the scene where he tracks Kyle and Sarah to the hotel.

I dunno if terminator is necessarily a better film to be honest as murphy and Robocop is a great story too and robo's design is just as iconic as the terminators imo. I'd put them about equal in terms of 80's filmmaking. Some elements of both films look dated now but one thing I always find annoying about the terminator is that synthesized music which can be painful to listen to at the best of times.

Oooh, don't ask me to choose between Terminator and RoboCop... I love both those films about equally, they're my favourite 80's sci-fi action films.

I might pick up Robocop later. Decided to go with this as I like the look of the gargoyle glasses/red eye and the fact my top shelf is all T2. Wasn't keen on the punk version so missed that.

I'll see how I get on with the futzing.

I like most of that piano cover and some but not all of the latter one.

I don't think 'dundun dun dundun' works on a piano but the rest is lovely.

As regards the film treatments of it, well, surprise surprise T1 and T2 do it best. I think it sounded awful with the orchestra for the end credits of T3.....can't remember if Salvation used it at all...

Wasn't that done with Brad Feidel hitting frying pans together or something?

Thank you my friend and likewise with your awesome display.

Is that just the regular Shotgun from the Police Shootout figure you have given the Tech Noir T-800?
