Also, because T1 is immune to criticism.
Indeed. As much as T2 is, I agree.

Well P. buys T2 figures for the same reason we all might buy T3 figures. The T-800 as a concept is really cool, the toys are cool, for the sake of owning these cool toys he will ''pretend'' they come from a film he likes just as much as the original. I can understand that.
But in the defence of us T2 fans, a lot of our postings are reactionary to stuff some T1 fans feel the need to say about T2 in order to big-up T1 (as Leon911 referred to). Personally I've never put down T1 in order to say why I like T2, I wouldn't do that because I love T1 aswell. Far as I'm concerned the enemy is T3, T4 and whatever crap they're trying to make now.

i love toys! What P. is doing here is almost hypocritical though. He clearly has a disdain for T2, yet there he is, buying away. Not just one for that matter, but multiples from "kiddie" scenes he supposedly doesn't even like that much.
The figure's only a couple years old.I keep seeing pics of it and it seems tho me that it hasn't aged bad at all...
Yeah its a pretty must have figure. I don't think they're going to remake it any time soon like they 'remade' MMS117.

My way to look at it is... T1 and T2 are like your children you can't choose one over the other. You can say one is better than another in certain areas, but overall ... nope...
T3 and T4 are like your neighbors children, they dont exist unless they make a noise.
it'd be an opportunity to get the 'missing link' headsculpt for one thing:
Not only that, I would argue that HT has regressed in some ways since that figure was released. At the time, they were nearly at the peak of their game, with the exception of head size and more limited body options. The clothing and accessories hasn't improved, the head sculpts now aren't providing us with consistently better likenesses, but we get "softer" sculpts and often inferior paintwork, such as the goopy blood on DX-13 (that I fully expect with this figure, as well). The figure's only a couple years old.
They've tightened up the newer head sculpts to an extent - sure, but MMS136 is a recent enough release - & in the top 10 HT releases, period.
As for a con exclusive, modern Reese would probably be the better choice, since he would sell better than T1 Sarah. But I would take either. I don't think the one missing head sculpt would be released, as I suspect it's just too obscure for all but a very small minority of Terminator collectors to care about. I would actually prefer a newer long haired sculpt, made in a bigger size like more contemporary HT heads, even though I don't really even feel a need for that. I still love my MMS 136. In fact, it's still my favorite Hot Toys figure period.
