Thanks guys, by popular vote, DX13 it is then! Also, I heard HT screwed up the scale with the MMS238, how does the DX13 compare to the DX10 in terms of scale?

I'll surely get the both some day, just having a hard time deciding who's next. :lol

I recently posted a pic of the terminators next to each other... I had the dx10 once, it was almost the same height as the 238...
Think of it in the middle, between dx13 and 238

But this one might answer your question properly:

Hey guys, I was wondering- if I were to close off the year with just one more figure, will it be this or the DX13? Which is the superior figure? I have the DX10 and MMS136 but I thought the 136 was superior to the DX10's soft sculpt. Thanks!

If I had to choose, I would get neither of them and instead get the Enterbay 1/4 scale BD T2 T-800. Of course it's 1/4 scale, but if you're looking for a definitive Arnie Terminator, this would be the one. Someone can correct me if I'm off, but the price of the DX-13 on the secondary market is probably close to the cost of the Enterbay by now.

Ok guys, due to popular vote I just bought the DX13. Should be here in 3/4 days. :yess:

I saw the EB one and it's great and all, but I don't collect 1/4 scale. I just want more Arnies to go with my Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles customs. Plus I got the DX13 cheap, like disgustingly cheap. :lol

Congrats! I love DX13. One of my all-time favorite figures. Sometimes I'm tempted to get another to display both looks simultaneously.

The Enterbay was on Xmas special yesterday on their international site for about US$320. It's normally 100-120 more than that I think. If I was going for a single definitive Arnie Terminator I'd probably buy it, just as if I was ignoring money and wanted one detailed Iron Man it would be the new HT quarter scale.

Tbh I'd rather have multiple sixth scale figures personally, than one or two really good quarter scales..

Yeah, I saw the EB on their international site, on-sale. If they shipped to the states, I would pick it up. Unfortunately, it is not on-sale on their US site. But I'm the same as you, I'd rather have multiple 1/6 scale figures than 1/4 scale, but that EB fig is something special. And I'm a sucker for T1 and T2.

Although you've already made your decision, I would have suggested this one. DX13 is a great figure no doubt, but I for one didn't want all the battle damage. For me the battle damage is the "alternate" display option. I'd rather have my Terminator relatively clean most of the time, just deadly and lightly damaged. For me, DX13 (although amazing detail) didn't represent the Terminator I wanted.

So the 238 is the shortest or the tallest? Sorry it's hard to tell from that picture

Well... Its almost the same height as the dx10... But yes, its smaller than the dx13...
Mms 136 is smaller than the 238...

isn't all the difference is in its boots depth? if all other details are the same. so if anybody is bothered, he should replace DX13 pegs with short ones or look for some unusually long pegs for MMS238.

ok so here's the instruction.

part 1.
0.
black rubber tape.

1.
the start.

2.
fill the gap with a narrow stripe of tape or with everything you want.

002_zpstocn3kyx.jpg~original

3.
put 12 (!) rounds of rubber tape on the neck. not more. i had a cool, thick tape that doesn't stretch. later i bought another, it stretched and became grey, won't use it anymore.

4.
put the head back on and make a cut lower than the hair line. or you won't be able to put the head on later.

004_zpsxnayxxgv.jpg~original

5.
cut some of the tape like shown here. it goes from hair line to ears. then take the piece of rubber and put it on neck's bag - it makes the back stronger later. you don't want just a cylinder, you want muscles there.

6.
now two cotton discs are needed.

006_zpsncennsak.jpg~original

7.
they are divided in halves. then 2 halves are cut into halves, too. they will be used as written on them.

8.
oh i forgot. another thick piece of tape is put on the back/neck connection, and another layer of tape goes for the neck to make the surface smoother.

9-10.
two shoulder quarters are turned into tubes and covered with tape to make triangle trapezian muscles. i forgot to photo them separately, so i draw one of them inside. view from the back and from the front (so you can see the tapes cross).

part 2.
11.
chest half cotton piece is put like this...

011_zpsgkdw7lf0.jpg~original

12.
...and fixed with a tape cross (2 stripes) from chest to shoulders.

012_zpsoendv14v.jpg~original

13.
back half cotton piece is put upside down.

013_zpsku4u2f3t.jpg~original

14.
and fixed with a tape cross as well. don't make both crosses too long or too short.

014_zpseapou0zp.jpg~original

15.
so that's how it looks now from the side.

015_zpsch4z24as.jpg~original

16.
now the weird part. ****s implants. no matter what they look like, they are just stickers for furniture legs. they are really helpful, or the chest will simply fall inside in some movements. we repeat the muscle structure of a human body, remember.

016_zpsesqnxpai.jpg~original

17.
a really important part about the t-shirt. it's throat must be stretched. as well as t-shirt on MMS136. both t-shirts had giant throats, and a terminator wore them very inaccurately, asymmetrically.
do it carefully with two hands. every time you do it right, there will be a little click - then move to a next section. don't do that near stitches, but otherwise do it throughout all round.

18.
look how big and hanging it should be. compare it to a movie screenshot if you want.
and as for a medicine bottle in the neck - it does same stretching with rubber neck. do that, too! it will be easier to put it back on the body later. i'd say "slightly easier".

part 3.
alright, now you just have to put the skin back on the body. it will not be easy. i spent a lot of time pulling it back, because new shoulders don't let it go back easily. on one of the figures i even had to cut 3 mm of the neck's top (i mean the rubber part).
a little ridge on the inside of the rubber chest won't go anymore into its slot on a plastic body. that's ok! don't try to put it there, or the chest will look weirdly.

and the result is what you've already seen. powerful T1 neck, shoulders, chest and back.

this figure actually has 14 layers on its neck instead of 12. i left it only for jacketless variant later. 12 layers are a lot better.

there are no photos for the jacket mod here. jacket's shoulders were changed slightly to have a sharper angle and be firmer. that mod is very easy, i'll make photos later, when i start remaking another figure with a jacket.
What is the purpose of that mod, p,?
several people asked for body mod process/insides photos. here they are.

About to buy this one, does anybody else have a problem with the eyes lighting up only for a small amount of time ? Couldn't they have painted the eye a bright red to give the effect ? Especially for being such a trademark of the character. Either way I guess it is a pointless question just wanted to hear other thoughts
