I'm hopeful that the long wait for an official announcement/pre-order is because Hot Toys is looking for ways to produce this thing at a reasonable price. It is after all largely just one block of black unpainted plastic, and there should be no reason they can't turn a profit at $500.

Either that, or Hot Toys may be waiting until the Batman and Joker figures ship, so that the completionists will feel obligated to buy the Batmobile despite its $1,200 price tag. :gah:

The 89 Batmobile is by far IMO the best designed even if it could never handle well of road!

I don't think HT has ever spend one single second trying to make their products more affordable.

:lol maybe not, but then they've never priced something over $500, either. Even Hot Toys should realize there's a limit to what they can charge if they want to sell more than a dozen of the things.

IF people keep sayin a certain price ,its like your encouraging the outrages prices to be dropped on them no more then 499.99 limit people..

So how long did the Tumbler take to sell out during pre order phase?

I'm just afraid I might miss out on the 1989 Batmobile deal if I don't check here everyday.

First one didnt sell out that quickly. You will not miss it because Hot Toys produces a ton of everything now. Nothing is selling out.

It was only a year after release it started to become scarce with prices slowly going through the roof. Besides, the tumbler was delayed many times.

I've scaled my collection right down & sold of a lot of my figures so hopefully I can get my hands on one of these. I even sold my Bale Batmans but this to me is the Batman & Batmobile I'll always have the best memories off since I was a kid :)

No matter how many people want it, a $600+/- toy ain't selling out in the first few days.

:exactly: $180+ figures don't sell out many after released. Unless it has a very low production run this should be around awhile.

Might be around a while but i wouldn't like to buy it.... say in a few years

prob be 2k plus :horror

If HT can't decide on the price, I will suggest $399 to them. Its not unreasonable price, right?

I got my Tumbler for $380 shipped, so no, it's not unreasonable.

But HT is.

As I've said before, HT needs to quit looking at ebay and price their product more in line with its actual value. Take the re-release of the IRON MAN Mk.I for example. I got the original for under $100, and now HT puts it back on the market with minimal upgrades, and will charge 100% more for it. That's a level of confiscatory pricing that makes it easy for me to walk away from.
