Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Yes you do! :lol

Yeah. Same. I bet HT had a prototype of her ready to go too *sigh* (I'm surprised the premium format figure is still up for pre-order on Sideshow. If it wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb due to the size difference I'd try my luck ordering that one)

You could always but the HT Mando 1/4 scale figure and pair it with the Cara Dune PF... That's my plan. I'm still miffed the PF isn't mixed media, but I've gotten over it enough to buy Cara! :)

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Somebody on Facebook pointed out the new hook on Mando's belt.

And someone else suggested the Krayt Dragon detonator:

I hope Mando doesn't come with the detonator because then that might indicate that we won't be getting a Cobb Vanth.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

The armor itself does look great, no doubt about it.

Though it looks like they reduced her bust to appease the Twitter mob that doesn't actually watch the show or purchase collectibles.

It's not the size but the position of the breast curve. To explain it, you have to look at the diamond shaped part on the chest armor. In the real armor, it's completely in the breast curve. In the figure, only its lower part is in the breast curve. So, the breast curve in the figure sits lower than the one in the show.

Having said that, I realized top part of the chest armor should have been flat, rather than curved.
And the abdomen armor must have been a little wider.
Also, why does HT use white stitching on the neck and chest garment?

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Figure looks good, they're really future proofing prices I think now with the long lead time. $285 is right near $300 for a figure. Maybe they're not expecting as many orders?

I hope Mando doesn't come with the detonator because then that might indicate that we won't be getting a Cobb Vanth.

The 1/4 Mando comes with it. I feel like there's zero chance of a Cobb Vanth once real Boba showed up.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I don't agree with the price on this one. I know everyone is trying to justify it but i just can't imagine why this more than $250 USD - MAX. It is not a deluxe or DX version. There is not an excessive amount of accessories.

With that being said i'm still getting it. I really like the character and seeing her make the leap from The Clone Wars, to Rebels, to live action is something that i can't pass up. I actually think the head sculpt is fine. I really like it. I'll be purchasing it as soon as the PO goes up.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Well, as expected there she is... pretty good to my novice eye, but I will admit the sculpt is a bit too masculine looking.

HT cleverly hid the lights on the headband with her hair. Smart move.

But that price. Yikes!!! Is this the new pricing? Comes with nothing but a useless stand that will take up way too much room on the shelf. Prefer a $250 tag without the stand.

Think they are getting a little overly optimistic for quarter 2 2022

Hoth pilot luke
Jango Fett
Gideon
Darktrooper
Assault tank commander
Mando Boba
and this ....

that’s nuts, also not gonna happen I know

Yeah, the over-crowding just means a longer wait for some of these figures. More Gamora wait times.

With that price and face it looks like No-Katan for me.

:lol

Yeah, I'm turned off by the price. Going to think about this one. It is not a character that has been with me since childhood so she is much easier to cut loose.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Is Timewalker really sold out already or did they just list it and didn't put it up for sale?

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I have no interest in Mandalorian figures. I think I need the license to marinate in pop culture for 10+ years before I'm interested. Looking at my collection and it seems to be the case. I think Qui Gonn was the last 1/16 figure placed a great value. Every figure since even with less accessories has been priced much higher.

Overall I think this is a nice looking figure. Head sculpt is almost there (maybe needs to be shorter?). Love the display. I'm sure people will look very forward to having her in hand!!

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

No way, probably didn't put it up yet.

Price will hurt this one.

Never seen them post it like this, it's always been up and orderable. They're my preferred place, so we'll see.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

A bare bones figure with a rough unmasked head sculpt for this price ? I?ll wait for Ahsoka ..

Yeah I have to agree. Clearly it's only being priced this way because it's a Mandalorian figure that they know fans have been craving.

Yup already waitlisted. I got an email from them warning it might sell out, but obviously didn't wake up early enough to order. Lol. But fortunately I was able to grab one at Alterego instead.

Anyone already planning a Sabine Wren custom from this?

Well I was originally planning to, but with how much just one figure costs I may need to scrap that idea. :(

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I kind of feel the same way... sculpt might be tweaked, but the price won't be.

I have only my lack of PO as a way to demonstrate against this pricing... so I will NOT be pre ordering.

I stand with Khev in the NO-Katan camp.

Seriously? Timewalker DID sell-out? That's amazing. Either she's that popular OR they are making a very small edition size. Likely both.

I actually gave them a call and asked, yep! It's definitely popularity, but also the limited # of figures they're allowed to order. That combined with the explosion of Hot Toys collectors out there in the last couple years. I swear I saw lots of social media posts out there where people were ordering the Mandalorian figure as their first Hot Toys/1:6 figure.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

If the production head gets softened a bit like all HT heads do, that might help dial down that slightly "masculine" look it has...

Although considering there was a strong chance we wouldn't get any Sackoff sculpt at all, I'm kinda surprised it turned out as good as it did. And it's at least a much closer likeness than the Gideon sculpt in my view.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Screw it! I've just ordered with Toy2.net - $275 USD + Canadian taxes. Local pick up so no shipping cost.

My wife is going to kill me. I'll be sleeping on the sofa tonight for sure lol.
