Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

It's not the size but the position of the breast curve. To explain it, you have to look at the diamond shaped part on the chest armor. In the real armor, it's completely in the breast curve. In the figure, only its lower part is in the breast curve. So, the breast curve in the figure sits lower than the one in the show.

Having said that, I realized top part of the chest armor should have been flat, rather than curved.
And the abdomen armor must have been a little wider.
Also, why does HT use white stitching on the neck and chest garment?

Damn, I come in here and instantly start reading about "breast curve" with all these red and white lines !! That's some science right there !

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Anyone already planning a Sabine Wren custom from this?

This will be one expensive base figure. I can see someone maybe doing a Koska Reeves but I'd need to see a Sabine done before I believe anyone would be that crazy.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I swear I saw lots of social media posts out there where people were ordering the Mandalorian figure as their first Hot Toys/1:6 figure.

Yeah, The Mandalorian has certainly opened Star Wars back up. That coupled with HT's now smaller edition sizes creates fast sell-outs for a lot of figures. This one seems poised to disappear faster than Dark Troopers.

Did I just convince someone to pull the trigger? I hope so -- the faster this is gone, the faster I can stop considering her.

Looks amazing. Glad HT is sticking with mostly fabric under suits for the Mandalorian figures.

After comparing their outfits again, I just see too many differences for anyone to create a proper Sabine out of this. You'd need to create all new gauntlets, a smaller chest armor, new pouches for the belts, a new undersuit, etc. Plus the fact Bo-Katan just has a much broader frame to her that wouldn't really work for the more slender Sabine.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

If the production head gets softened a bit like all HT heads do, that might help dial down that slightly "masculine" look it has...

Although considering there was a strong chance we wouldn't get any Sackoff sculpt at all, I'm kinda surprised it turned out as good as it did. And it's at least a much closer likeness than the Gideon sculpt in my view.
I was thinking exactly this. The softening in production will benefit this sculpt. All of them have the nitty details exaggerated so account for that when molding.

Either way; 10 left at AE. I used a coupon to knock it down. Easy decision.

Ah, but you forget HT's female bodies... Bo-Katan will already come in Sabine size.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I actually gave them a call and asked, yep! It's definitely popularity, but also the limited # of figures they're allowed to order. That combined with the explosion of Hot Toys collectors out there in the last couple years. I swear I saw lots of social media posts out there where people were ordering the Mandalorian figure as their first Hot Toys/1:6 figure.

Timewalker is my preferred retailer as well.

I was able to put in an order with them but she was gone very, very quickly.

It’s really unfortunate Sideshow doesn’t give their partners more allocations. I understand why, but I just wish more people could support their preferred retailer of choice.

I’m not surprised if this is the first Hot Toys figure for some people out there. Popular character, well liked sci-fi actress, a Mandalorian, appears in two (three-ish) fan favorite shows, and in two of the best Star Wars stories (TCW Siege of Mandalore arc and the finale of The Mandalorian season 2).

I don’t like to double up but I’m definitely considering getting a second to display with the head sculpt, which is not great but at least it exists.

$285 for a basic figure with a head sculpt that makes Sackoff look like a man?

I'm sure Sabine will get a variant set of armor to give her a more unique look too for whenever she debuts on the Ahsoka show. Not to mention she'll most likely also get a paint deco change, so it would just be way more trouble than it's worth trying to customize one. But if you have the extra disposable income and talent and really want a customized Sabine, who am I to discourage anyone?:dunno

Well fellas, it's been fun reading about how everyone thinks her face looks like a man, but I'll see you all next year when the final product photos are up (and you're all complaining about not being part of the first batch despite being a "day one order" lol) :wink1:

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Hot toys track record with production headsculpts hasn't been great lately (aside from Holland's FFH sculpt) so I wouldn't expect a huge improvement when this is released....in 2026 lol
Even if the sculpt was better $285 is a slap in the face from HT

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

biggest problem is her chin
the costume looks awesome

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)
