The FB groups are on fire. Lot's of complaining about this right after V2 has landed. Has no one noticed what HT has done with Cap, IM, Thor, Hulk, etc? Always a newer version with a main character. Thing is you get/got the V2 now, has some awesome accessories and some people might like the flatter look over a shiny look.

I feel sorry for people thinking of selling their current Beskar Mandos..I mean, this V2 version has almost everything..do they really think they will get top dollar for the current Mando

just keep the current version people but still order this one ..that’s my plan

My Captain Phasma is holding pretty well. Not sure she went thru the same process as the one offered on that Mando and she's displayed in a room that does not see too much sun.

This is hard to swallow. I like the updated suit and armor but don’t care about the headsculpt much or another Grogu. Don’t need the swoop bike or the Boba elements since I preordered the 2 pack. It’s a great set though.

If you have the patience, Ebay is your friend.

I'm glad for this, I would love a 1/6 Beskar Mando but I need to be able to pay for further out and I worried the current releases would be sold out by then.

Went ahead and ordered the standard version at sideshow. Had $150 in rewards and a $25 coupon so it came out to $162 after tax. I’ll take that deal all day.

I just had a quick look on Facebook, and there's a lot of reaction to the chrome plating.

I didn't realise there was an issue that it just naturally deteriorates. I just assumed that old toys with worn chrome were from heavy play.

There was a photo of somebody's chrome T-1000 from the DX13 set that had turned dull and cloudy. I have two of those boxed up that I haven't looked at in years.

Another post said the same happened to the blades on newer Predators.

There seems to be so many posts stating that chrome plating on plastic doesn't last

I Googled Phasma to see the description, and the Hot Toys description states:

chrome colored armor and helmet

And their specs state:

Specially applied multiple layers of metallic paint on armor with weathering effects

So the chrome plated Mando is different.

I wonder why they couldn't just paint him instead?


I'm now thinking I'll just skip this figure. Essentially it was offering the ability to display him in the hobo pose, plus a head sculpt.

Boba's armour will be coming with the Deluxe Boba set; the Dark Saber will be coming with Gideon; I don't need another Grogu or his bag.

The Pedro sculpt is the only remaining selling point, and it's bound to be recast by an enterprising third party company...

I don’t get why everyone is panicking. This isn’t anything new or unexpected. Iron man changed looks several times in each movie. Vader even has subtle differences in his appearances. Mando was going to get the same treatment. They even released the teaser for this back around the premier of season 2. Nobody was swindled into the v2 figure. A season 2 version was pretty much always in the cards.

....after a great deal of thought [that means about five hour's worth] I have decided to just get the regular version. I'd like the Darksaber and the extra Fett armor pieces, but I can live without them as long as Regular has the headsculpt and the spear.

Apart from chrome paint, this has no edge over v1 beskar for me. The child that came with v1 beskar is superior to every Grogu so far . In fact, if it wasn't the child, I'd be fine with nonbeskar one.

This was expected lol Why are people so surprised and angry? A lot of people were banking on them doing a Season 2 version with possibly a headsculpt.

Hot Toys has been doing this same stunt for years. We're lucky he didn't get battle damaged in the show or else that would have been a separate version as well.

Perfect reason why I didn't jump on The Mandalorian train. In a nutshell there is always a better "THOR"!! Maybe not the fat one but you get my point.

Why do I feel the need to have an extra damaged Boba Fett helmet? Why?

I dont know, but I have the same urge: I dont have a use for it, it does not really have a purpose I just WANT IT and the jetpack too.

However my P.O.s are sorta piling up and I need to stay at least partway sane, so I passed. With that said, its time to release Deathwatch Mando - an easy figure to make - and lets get him out of the way.

Reports are flooding into Facebook about HT chrome plating flaking off the DX-13 T-1000, Predator blades, and also the T-800 Endoskeleton.

Hard to tell from photos, but the T-1000 looked dull and cloudy.





Phasma's armour, which seems to have held up well, wasn't chrome plated, but "multiple layers of metallic paint".

OK... let's talk Mando v4.

This becomes quite apt after reading all those horror stories!

Mando v4's beskar will be achieved by "multiple layers of metallic paint".

They always on fire about some damn thing.

The funniest thing to me is how anytime anything new goes up, people immediately start whining about Cyborg, Shazaam! and Mark 46. When will they learn?! HT does what they want, and we will all like it or go without. This is the Way.
