1/6 Hot Toys Tomorrowland

I live in LA and all of my friends have been anticipating this film for the last 2 years. Maybe living near the actual Tomorrowland has something to do with it, but I'm honestly a huge fan of Brad Bird too, having directed two of my favorite films ever (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles).

It's pretty clear they have a deal with Disney after making Pirates of the Caribbean, Lone Ranger, Maleficent and now Tomorrowland. And cosbabies as well with the Pixar characters. Not to mention all of the Marvel and Star Wars and Indiana Jones properties that are now owned by Disney.

Mad Max is unobtainable. N2 did 7 inch figures years ago but Randy is being plagued on Twitter daily about the license. George Miller owns the rights and refuses any merchandise.

Just because there is so much hype around what the big 300 will be. Lots of sad voices would be heard if it was this.

I am honestly intrigued. I am going to see the film this weekend, I have wanted to see it for a while. I am curious what figure could be from the film, it's a fascinating choice on hot toys part.

From the previews the film looks promising. I'm sure HT have some deal with Disney to make figures from more than just it's Marvel and Star Wars lines. It will probably just end up being one figure, but at least it's some variety.

This is making me think of what other Disney property I want Hot Toys to tackle... OH, TRON LEGACY. Let's get more of that please. At least with a third Tron beginning production this fall, more TRON seems likely. We can probably also count on The Force Awakens and the fifth Pirates film is already in production.

Tomorrowland isn't so random for Hot Toys to do. Random would be a Dwayne Johnson figure from San Andreas. But i suppose they already have a mold from Retaliation so...

They seem to do a random "one off" Disney character every year now. Tonto, Maleficent, and now whoever from Tomorrowland. I'm surprised they didn't do Cinderella instead.

Saw it. Loved it. So much fun.

But I highly doubt a figure form the movie will ever be released. Hell while watching I was trying to figure who they would do and the only one I could think of was Clooney, but he's not even that interesting. The ladies stole the show.

Just now noticing the singular ''collectible'' in the announcement. I hope that's evidence of the cautious approach that they absolutely should be taking with a license like this and with license announcements generally. When you say ''collectibles'' you shouldn't be surprised if collectors are disappointed when either just one item shows up, or even worse, none.

Saw this today with my son. It was pretty good and my son liked it alot. I can't see what they do with this line. Clooney just wears street clothes the whole time. Hugh Laurie is the only one who really wears anything different or special.

I won't be buying anything from this line except maybe a clooney head for a bash of some kind. I don't understand this license until I see what they plan on releasing.

Well 200 ended up being Man of Steel Superman--an imperfect figure from a disappointing film that ended up being clearanced out on Sideshow's site. My expectations aren't through the roof at this point.

I suppose if it's george clooney they could do that scene at the end where

he uses the jet pack to drop athena into the monitor; the jetpack will have LEDs and he could come with a disintegrator pistol and the thermal detonator thing.

It'd be a bit more interesting then plain old clooney; but for me to overlook the design and care more about the character itself i have to be a lot more invested in said character; and whilst i enjoyed the film there aren't really any characters that are must haves.
