If Hot Toys gets around to making 12" figures of Sam, Quorra, Rinzler, Clu, etc....

How would you like them to go about doing it??

Plastic body like Iron Man that lights up?

Rubber suit with light up elements?

Rubber suit with reflective materials?

Fabric suit with attached plastic parts and painted lights?

I think it all boils down into what is actually feasible, but among this list, which would YOU prefer?

I'd like a transparent true type body with LEDs throughout with a cloth and rubber suit with colored semi-transparent panels so the LEDs could shine through.

I definitely hope its not a fabric suit, instead a thin rubber one with LEDs,helmet with LEDs and a detachable identity disk.

But wouldn't a suit of fabric with molded rubber pieces on top be more screen accurate and more poseable? Granted, the rubber would end up being a great deal of the outfit, but the outfits use a hexagon-patterned fabric as their base.

No more ____ing rubber...please.

I like that idea of clear light up TT with fabric and plastic parts over top of it, light switchs on the legs could double for baton holders.

Here is a shot of the kit at work over a standard Deluxe disc:

That looks without a doubt amazing! I would be so tempted to pick up one of those basic kits to mod the white Flynn one!

The idea of a clear TT, but we all know clear plastic is more brittle than colored.

You can still section tje clear parts off through out the figure, R&D..simple..and besides that, nah..not all clear plastic currently available is brittle.

It's still in progress over at The RPF, the maker lists somewhere between $75-$85. He said it isn't hard to install but no one has one in hand to testify to that fact.

I wonder, would it not be as easy as getting those cheap LED strips and install it inside unless the RPF solution actually lights up the LEDs in sequence mimicking the prop?

I've seen 2 different mods, some with EL wire and some with LED.
The EL wire only lights it up brighter, but takes space inside the disc, so you loose the sound feature.

The LED needs a transformer, so it has to be wired, but indeed i've seen a few that mimic the lighting patterns from the movie...
Very cool stuff...
Search for Tron Disc prop on YouTube, there's quite a few...

The RPF mod doesn't light up in sequence as the creator said that it'd kick up the price higher, its supposed to be more affordable option in comparision to what some were charging. I still can't find a CLU disc :(

I have been LIED to! :lol

Good....I want that conversion kit but was worried about not finding one...

True. Polycarbonate is not brittle at all. In fact it acts very much PVC and may even be a thermoplastic(?). It also comes with a blue/purple ting on the edges. Pretty cool stuff.

My guess is we'll end up with more pics of Kevin Flynn from Hot Toys at Toyfair? Anyone think they will change the sculpt a bit before he sees release?

I'm hoping they DO revise it. To me, it's just not close enough for me to snatch it up immediately.
