Very nice custom display base. My only nitpick would be about the font, since it's not from Tron: Legacy. That's the same font from the Spider-Man movies. I think if you would've used the same style of font from the movie it would've looked better. Like this example I just made:

And obviously those fonts could be sized to whatever to fit right. Just my opinion.

Yepp - you're right, a lettering with the TRON Legacy font looks much better but due the copyrights by disney i have choosen this font.
Note, its not the spiderman font, its called "xenotron" :wink1:

This is my own base version, unfortunately no for sale because of the original TRON lettering:

Thats a shame about the font. Were you warned officially or are you respecting their rights by choice? Lots of people get away with using emblems and likenesses, etc. I respect you for not doing it, but it is a shame.

Awesome base Maxx as usual... sucks about Disney bugging you about the font... wish I could get one of your bases... someday I hope...

Here are some pics of my whole 1/6 Tron collection so far!
Added Spenser's Tron figures!
:rock

Thanks a lot :wave

No, thankfully not.

In these cases Disney sees no fun. I'll only use my own designed logos and lettering for the bases :wink1:

Glad you like him man. He's definitely one of my favorite figures! Now just need the Lightcycle :impatient:

Defiantely one of the best in my collection. I understand what you mean about Sam Flynn. I think we talked about it earlier in the thread, I preordered this figure, then cancelled it. With all the production delays I am just not sure that even if production gets off the ground, that there won't be some major issues in hand over time. At this point I am going to wait for others to have it in hand, and see over the course of a few months how this figure stands up (outside the lab so to speak).

That being said, I did pre-order the Rinzler maqutte from SS. Also I plan on ordering the custom Tron/ Flynn from fellow member Spenser in the near future.

Eventually I will have them all, but the Sam Flynn for now I will just have to stick with my Spin Master 12 inch.

I just really hope that Hot Toys does the other character in a non-light up fashion using the same techiniques that Medicom used on the Daft Punk figures. My UD Replica Sam Flynn jacket has that reflective stuff, and just the smallest amount of light makes the jacket "glow". In my opinion its the best/ most cost effective way of getting these characters to us.:hi5:

11/08: I preorderd the Sam Flynn AGAIN from BBTS! GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely one of my favorite figures. I love the overall simplicity and clean look of Flynn in his white costume, although eventually I would like to pick up another sculpt so I can display him in his black suit as well.

Hollywood, I completely agree with you on using reflective material instead of trying to light any future figures. It seems like a no brainer to me. Perhaps then, we'd get more figures from both films.

Either way, I will be getting the Sam and light cycle, although with all the delays I may most likely be paying for it with my social security checks...

Agreed. I really believe that using that material rather than lights would be the best way to go, besides it looks cool even when not "lite-up."

I got this figure in a trade and opened him today. He's pretty awesome. I'll keep him in the black outfit and if I can get a second Kevin Flynn head sculpt, I'll make a white outfit one.

I got this the other day in a trade too and I'm so glad I did! It's a fantastic figure. I swapped his white outfit out for his black one right away. I did have some trouble with the clasps on an inner outfit and finally just gave up trying to snap them. The outer ones worked fine thankfully though.

I agree about using reflective material for future figures. In fact, I think it might be a better option. You can't keep these things lit up all the time, and going by the Spinmaster toys they don't look that visually exciting when they aren't lit up.

I agree about using reflective materials as well. Just having a light up base is cool with me.

Someone at the Hot Toys Facebook page put up a post requesting Quorra. I figure it wouldn't hurt if we got a lot people "liking" the post.

That diorama looks awesome, Rorywan.

I'd like a few more figures from this line, but sadly it probably isn't happening. A few obvious ones would be Rinzler, Quorra, and CLU. A separate Sam Flynn would've been nice.
