Can anyone be more succinct than The Mike?

I sure can't. :bow

Yeah, I'm hopin' HT makes this mythical unicorn piece a reality someday, too.

Still can't see them fitting a complete TT inside the suit like Maschinen Krieger did. :violin

That was displayed on a website by a company calling themselves Bomber Toys. They vanished just as quickly as they arrived.

Ahaha! :lol What a loss for them. They should continue doin' that project cause that time, HT's fans didn't know HT will be making a Iron Monger so I'm sure once they released their own unlicensed version..it would sell good just like the Man in Suit!

Anyway, thanks for that info man!

HT Monger won't be able to open to reveal OS. The again it is HT, so you never know. Don't really care. Just want the Monger.

Agreed. I wouldn't put anything past Hot Toys.
Maybe they'll come up with an amazing alternative.

I'm not too worried about whether or not there will be an actual figure inside. I'm more concerned with the scale of the Iron Monger itself. It needs to look correct next to the Mk.III.

I rather have no reveal and Monger being more affordable.. this year is not going to be an easy one as it is

It's coming. There is NO way they would've made a proto and not capitalize on it, especially when it's from one of the most successful HT lines ever. I for one will be paying whatever the asking price for a HT Monger, as no other piece will be as impressive as this one.

Right, just like that amazing Flying Dutchman Jack sparrow, Rorschach, or the unused predator. It's not like they made prototypes of those, then decided not to make figures of them, right?

it's not coming. Unfortunately.

I wouldn't mind being proved wrong, but I'm just being realistic.

This is beginning to sound like a very real possibility.
We have to remember that Hot Toys is a business. Perhaps making Iron Monger at the correct scale, with correct details, and the possibility of a figure inside, they would have to price the product relatively high. This would put it out of the reach of many customers. That in turn means they don't sell enough of them to make it worthwhile.

No disrespect, but I hope you're wrong too. :D

Contrary to the 3 examples given above, the Monger WILL sell. It's coming.

and you think Rorschach wouldn't? or the jack? or the Predator?

Look at what the Jack sparrow figures go for, or the older preds on the secondary market.

Even then, it dosn't have anything to do with would it sell, and everything to do with would it sell enough to make it worthwhile.

we don't know what it would cost to make, per unit, nor what it would sell for. the tumbler was what, 300$?

but in comparison to the Iron monger, the tumbler is fairly simple. it's mostly just large oddly shaped plates.

Think about how complicated the engineering on the mark 1 is, then consider how complex the monger would be.
i'd say thats a 500$ figure at the least.
so assuming a 499$ baseline. lets say they include a full obi figure with it. that's another 149.99

so we're up to an estimated 650 BEFORE shipping on this. as it's a larger figure, it would likely have a higher shipping cost, so 30-40$ for domestic shipping is a possibility

so that's a possible allmost 700$ shipped for this.

I just don't see it.

and even if they did, There is no way i would buy it. can't afford it.

HT has already stated this is an 'upcoming product'

I don't believe a true type could fit inside that prototype nor is it designed to hold one. It will probably be similar to how the Ironman figures are not on actual true types either. So that will keep the cost down.

Just like the batmobile, you have to look at this as a big sculpture not an action figure, it would be aimed at high end collectors. For people who wanted an Iron Monger statue, this would be a cheaper alternative and have more features

possible, though it is worth stating that they did not say that Iron monger WAS an upcomming product specifically.

Be neet to see if they did him with JUST a obi head in there.

:goodpost: Exactly what I was saying in my previous post but in a much more elaborate way. :)

Not directing this specifically at anyone but just stating in general:
We must not forget Hot Toys is a company in this to make money. And just like any company, they look at several different factors when coming up with their products. One of the two biggest factors is, "How much is this going to cost us to create", and then of course, "How much can we charge to generate revenues."

For Hot Toys to release an Iron Monger, it first has to make sense to them.

Here is a great example of a figure that's unbelievably amazing:

But how much did it cost to build this thing and how much/how many do you need to sell to turn an acceptable profit?

Nothing has to really make sense, its about generating buzz for your company. Look at all the Japanese car manufacturers that makes exotics. For example, Acura with the NSX and Lexus with their LFA. They lost or are losing money for every single car they sell, but it generates excitement for hte companies.
Even Hot Toys lost money on the Tumbler and Batpod, but people are googly eye all over them now because no one thought it could be done. Hot Toys also made the Robocop ED-209, that was over 5years ago.

I didnt see a Rorschach in there.

If HT charges $500 for the Monger, I'll gladly pay it. It'll make the fig that much more exclusive. But $350 seems more likely.
