One would think that DOFP would be behind all the schedule moves from HT, but likely its Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm not expecting DOFP figures, but that doesnt mean I dont want them

Uhhhh....

Maybe not all is lost:rotfl

It's debatable whether X-Men figures would sell more than what's currently out there in the retail stores

Well the article suggests that they aren't selling much because kids have those characters from the previous movies. But kids don't have X-Men from previous movies, so by that theory it stands to reason they'd sell more.

I don't fully buy that assumption. We see more Spideys, Iron Men, and (often) Wolverines because they sell. I've heard directly from a Diamond representative that this is almost always the case. You put a lesser known, less frequently available character out there, and it's not going to move nearly as quickly as another Spidey variant, despite the fact that a billion Spidey toys already exist. This even applies to specialty markets, where the less hardcore collectors still far outweigh the more hardcore collectors who want the relatively obscure and different.

I guess Hot Toys makes whatever figures they want, there often seems to be no ryhme or reason to what they produce,or when.

The question I would ask is if they made a run of, whatever a run is 3000? 4000? of Proffesor X new or old, Magneto new or old and maybe a couple of others, would those figures sell out? and my guess would be yes sir they would indeed sell out and possibly a lot quicker than some other figures on the market.

And you would think that as far as buisiness decisions go that's all that would matter?

I also can't see what kids have to do with the subject, these are high end collectibles, kids are not buying them so are irrelevent to the discusion.

Personally I can't see any of these representations selling 3 or 4 thousand units. In regards to HT's choices of what characters to produce, I'd say the vast majority make sense. Really the only recent release I can think of that was out of left field is Tonto, since the movie seems to have been a failure. My guess is that they have a ton of properties that will out perform any characters from this franchise.

Yeah but....ugh...... never mind

I still think they at least need to make some variation of magneto. Preferably the Fass in DOFP.

If we were to get Hot Toys releases I think a solid idea would be two packs.

Stewart with McAvoy
Ian with Michael
70s Logan with Future Wolverine

You don't think they could sell a couple thousand future Wolverines? It would be a easy sell. Best looking version of Logan in the movies so far. I think a Fass Magneto would do well also. Closest version to the comics as far as looks go and people love them some Fass.

The last two Wolvies released for sale are still hanging around SSC's website, while their Iron Men almost always sell out before even coming in-stock. And that's the X-Men's biggest hitter by a wide margin.

Now that they have teased the GoTG team, I think the chances from this movie have passed.

Exactly. GoTG might as well be the most obscure comic out there and they are building them up to be on par with the Avengers. The film is untested and Hot Toys is making the while team? The freeze out is real and there's no doubt in my mind at this point. All I can say is, screw you Marvel, I hope GoTG fails big time because I don't care about any of those characters.
