How did Heroes get SO AWFUL?!

Honestly, I wish that Heroes didn't have completly contradictory plotline every season negating the previous season....just gives no reason to watch each subsequent season. How many times have Peter's powers changed?????

This is my only gripe with the show, but I guess they are going for the "True" comic book on-screen experience.

Every week, the writers of Heroes meet for a quick game of Mad Libs. They write the name of each character on slips of paper, drop them in a paper bag, and grab them out in a random order to complete the following form:

In this week’s episode of Heroes, ___________ loses his/her power, while ___________ discovers a new power.

___________ is killed, and ___________ comes back from the dead.

Meanwhile, ___________ gets amnesia, while ___________ travels through time.

___________ and ___________ don’t even appear in the episode.

Damn, it came back on this week and I missed two episodes. I don't care for the show that much anymore, but just like I can't stop reading a book in the middle (even if I hate it) I wanted to see this last season out. I'm assuming its the last season because it can't get worse and I've given up on it getting better.

As to why it became awful, I think its because after the first season the writers didn't know what to do and since then they've been floundering around. Season 2 looks really good compared to 3 and 4. It was just really slow, but at least it made sense. The last two seasons just seem willy nilly. I'm convinced a handful of us working together could do a better job.

I personally think this season has been getting things back on track and is more in line with the first season. Throughout last season everything had gotten so ridiculous and convoluted that I stopped caring about what happened to the characters because it didn't matter anyway.

Loved the First season
The Second season was a let down, but not a complete disaster.
The Third started with promise but then started to fall apart.
The one thing that kept my interest was The Petrelli's father.
Was Sylar his son, how can they beat him, stuff like that.
Problem was after they had built up Petrelli's father as the main Villain who was amassing all these powers, he gets killed halfway through and then the story becomes a big WTF is going on mess.

Really? I thought the retcon of Arthur Petrelli (whereas the boys not only knew their father committed suicide and attending his funeral) to being alive but disabled was the first really jump the shark moment and the real sliding down hill from there. I hated that moment especially because the made it seem like pressure got to Arthur and led to his suicide which added to the overall layers of the mystery...that completely got thrown out.

Daphne got discarded somewhere. that irish chick seems to be forgotton, Peter is over Dark Claire, Hiro is nowhere near badAss future Hiro, Ando seems to be powerless, and there was no butterfly effect of Hiro going in the past to change the way his sister sees Ando, where is Angela's weather controling sister, Suresh spent time on that facility and seems to not have seen her again... writers need to take a break from the filming schedule and re-watch the episodes themselves to see how absolutely ridiculous they have made this show.

Stopped watching halfway through season 3

Thank GOD for Chuck is right!!!
