Also, on the subject of style, may I just say that it's high time that people with style took fedoras and trench coats back from hipster *********s with v-necks and acoustic guitars and angsty high school psychos who can't talk out their problems.

Look so much better than this:

...and those stupid trench coat mafia kids.

The Fedora is never making a comeback. It should just be forgotten.

You know, I did in fact wear a clip on bow tie as a child, but as an adult, I don't like ties at all and refuse to wear them, because I find them frivolous and ridiculous. Ties are totally unnecessary with no function, other than making you more vulnerable in a fight. Ties for men are kind of like women who curl their hair, done because they believe the extra effort makes them look better.

You could always wear bow ties if you think you are going to get in a lot of fights lol.

The number of fights that have broken out during those occasions that call for the wearing of a tie doesn't bear thinking about... the funerals, weddings, various workplaces, conferences... I know I pack a spare clip-on bow tie at these events in case things get nasty.

It will make a comeback, as will the classic trench coat, I will make it so.

I was going to give you a hard time about your belief that ties give an opponent an advantage in a fight, but...

Blackmask did just fine with it...3 more man-card redemption points for Blackmask. Only 9,987 to go!

If you solely wanted function, you'd be wearing rags that you never washed. Style and function are way better than function alone, and collars and ties are way better than shirts without collars and ties.:lecture

I like the mandarin collar, because it conforms to the shape of the body, and yet is stylish. To me, a business suit looks like a thing to get buried in, not to live in.
I realize a lot of people see suits as stylish, but I see them as impractical and ostentatious, ridiculous things that speak of slavery to conformity and a loss of individuality to the system.
Sonny Crockett wore a suit, but he wore them with a t-shirt, and that was cool. Usually when there is an artist on tv or the movies, he isn't wearing a tie, he is often wearing a t-shirt with a suit because it is more comfortable, and being independently successful, he can wear what he wants.

That says real success in my mind.

Nothing says success as loudly as being your own boss and being able to wear what you want and no one telling you otherwise, because you can contribute what few other people can, unlike people who must work for some big company and suck up to other people.

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with your idea of fashion. If I saw a man walking down the road in a nicely fitted, tailored suit, I'd be thinking "I've got to find that tailor." If I saw a guy walking down the road in a mandarin collar, I'd think "what a douche;" that last part goes for most turtlenecks, too.

I think if a man looks nice in something, then it will look nice. Don't care if it's a turtleneck, mandarin collar or suit with tie.

That ******* contributed to the downfall of the trench coat, too. Trench coats should be worn by men in suits, not goths and angst filled Keanu Reeves'.

His coat was modeled after a Sherwani coat , which was worn by the first Prime Minister of India. It is not a coat for men in suits. It is a coat that was fashioned for nobility. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherwani

Trench coats remind me of NAZI SS officers :lol.

Personally, I don't like to dress in formal-wear. I also don't wear a suit unless I absolutely have to - eg. at interviews, conferences, company dinners, etc. My usual attire for the week consists of: straight-fit Levis jeans, DKNY and Guess t-shirts (or INC v-neck sweaters), black timberland boots, and leather motorcycle jackets.

The whole point of a suit is that it takes a man to look good in one, and it takes a man to not lose his individuality in one. Ties are a symbol of restraint, which can be taken as a sign of being controlled by others, or of controlling oneself. Again, look at the man wearing it and it should be obvious why he's wearing it. A real man is not controlled by others.
