Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

..inside the HT office...

HT: Hey, we have a new figure to release this 3rd qtr, let's talk about price. (discussions...) Ok, let's price this one for $180. It's reasonable, don't you guys think?

HT: Let's check SSC forums first coz you never know what those geeks are willing to pay for. Say, let's reveal a teaser first....

HT: (checks SSC forums..) Wow! people actually wants to pay $400 for this! Ok proceed with the $400 price tag! (end discussion)

HT: :hi5:

Collectors: :slap

The sad thing is I'm sure they definitely scout around, just as your said. I know I would especially with message boards like these, where there is such a large fan base.

OMFG!!! You missed the PPO?!
Not the PPO smart ass, there was a member saying that they were taking preorders for this at SDCC even though they didn't know a price. My cousin is there and they told her they aren't taking orders yet.

X can't really afford or truly justify dropping about 200 big ones on the figure. So decides to PO BB Bats and sell on OC Bats.

Ebay timing is terrible, only gets $300 on the OC having spent $400 on it just 6 months ago.

BB Bats arrives. It looks perfect, but hang on... what's that leaky... strewth, there is OIL leaking like crazy out of the abdominal area!

Logs onto the BB Bats SSF thread... new post after new post coming in complaining about another HT Oily Bats FAIL. Outrage, angst and grief all round.

Collector X cries himself to sleep, dreaming feverish dreams about his one-time favourite and now forever gone OC Bats...

Collector Y buys the figure for $800 on ebay despite reading the numerous threads and being warned by countless freaks.

When it arrives, Collector Y, we'll now call *********, belittle the ones who had leaks and raves that despite the insurmountable evidence, his is and shall remain leak free.

********* silently posts a single post three weeks later, announcing that his figure is turning to soup like the rest. No apologies but expecting sympathy for the cold hard _____slap, not from Karma, but from the realization of his own stupidity.

Fixed for accuracy. :wink1: :lol

:lol ....upon waking up clear-headed for the first time in months, Collector X realises that he can't live without a perfect Batman figure on his shelf and his leaky BB Bats must be replaced.

He logs onto ebay and picks up a MIB OC Bats. Since the leaky BB Bats debacle, prices for OC Bats have steadily increased, but he manages to find a good example for only $700. Fellow freaks scavenge his parted out BB Bats and he gets a hundred bucks for his trouble. At last the balance has been restored to his universe, as he is once again the proud owner of OC Bats. And it only cost him nine hundred bucks :wink1:

Why can't Hot Toys get the cape right? :monkey2

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

What does any of this have to do with a Ledger Joker? I'm just simply pointing out that almost every thread I go into lately on the DC side of things I find a post from you trying to stoke the coals of someone who is happy about a custom. Hell this time it was just brought up by you out of the blue, you didn't even need someone to give you your "material." I personally don't own any of the ones you seem so hard up on, but like you I like to look at the pictures and comment as well. Some stuff sucks donkey ____ other stuff is pretty amazing.

I was merely adding another part of the pattern that other people had picked up on...that of the people who are so fickle about these things. I personally think it's hilarious when someone spends, in some cases, thousands of dollars improving a figure because they're convinced that nothing will measure up to their custom, touts it all over the place, then quietly puts it up for sale the day after HT unveils one that is better. If they were so happy with it, why not keep it? The fickle nature and obsessiveness just amuses the living ____ out of me.

If that upsets you, sorry, but something has to break up the endless "when is this coming out?!" and I figure why not have a little fun with a ridiculous pattern?

Seriously i dont get it:mad:

Its not that hard to make a velvet cape hot toys, but i guess they just want to reuse old material and save money.

Nice pics!

Not feeling the Batman head/expression. Bruce looks good but I wonder why they didn't make the head with a neck... the seam looks goofy

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

ok, if this would be around $300, maybe.... still happy with my OC Batman but seriously, that Bale HS is just amazing.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Well the Shadow Predator exclusive is confirmed at $225, so I dread to see what the final price of this will be :(

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Whats with the glossy new knees on the Bale figure. This looks a lot bulkier than my OC Bats.

The size is movie accurate, but the gloss isn't. In the actual suit its a matte finish, like the one on the left, but w/e i dont really care.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Looks a bit fat to me. But maybe thats because Im used to looking at my DK OC.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

one thing that would be a nice change for this would be if they made the gauntlets glossy

Don't worry void, you'll have Adam's BB Bats head soon enough :)

also...
out of curiosity, void, are you one who prefers the neck and head to be one piece on your figures?

I'm quite the opposite. I prefer the neck and head to be seperate pieces. All my HT are like that except for joker and they look pretty good to me

Don't mind me :D It's the way I read your post in my head (with a bit of editing) that made me :lol Too inappropriate to share on here I think :D

It all depends on the pose. If it's obvious that the neck and head don't line up correctly, then I don't care for it.
