Depends on what you personally value. How is it different from spending the same amount on several statues and/or figures?

We all spend disgraceful amounts of money on our toys.

I think anybody paying $1k or even $500 for 1/6 clothes, whether or not you have the $$$ to flaunt it, should expect a little crap for it without loading up on poopballs and chucking them at everybody who posts. This kneejerk need to defend having spent that much tells me you also feel a bit ripped off for it. :huh

Though I will say, the jab at Dino about crying in the leaky DX vid got me to :lol. :rotfl

Yah for those who buy figures from all different movies and genres, guys like Void and myself and others only buy Nolan's Batman. There isn't a huge checklist of figures from Nolan's Batman to collect, so to upgrade the clothing isn't a huge deal. Like if your Star Wars collector, they make a figure from pretty much every character. Batman we only have Joker, Batman, Dent, and Scarecrow/Demon, plus the Tumbler & Bat Pod. Thats all there is....

Despite having the resources to do so, if I ever drop $1k on a headsculpt and $1k on a custom wardrobe, feel free to tell me I've lost my mind. :wave

To be honest I laugh about that video too.

You were sooooooooooo angry in that vid. :lol:lol:lol:rotfl

Yeah pretty much - the rest of the checklist is pretty much customs of other characters that have not been officially made or custom upgrades of ones that have been.

Plus dios in my case.

I personally haven't bought any custom 1:6 pieces. I like the officially licensed figures, they are fine for me.

But I buy custom 1:1 Batman replicas from Nolan's movies which are fairly expensive and are basically movie props. Haven't bought any screen used items yet and to find a screen used Batman Begins suit is nearly impossible and would cost probably $50,000-100,000, maybe more.

:horror:horror:horror

But yeah I can see a screen used costume go for that much.

If i won the lottery or made it BIG in life, I could see myself spending that, but at that point i would open heartedly admit to total loss of my mind. :rotfl

$1,000 for doll clothes?

Regarding spending $1000.00 on one figure , although I've never spent that much myself I'd rather have something like Kato's Joker than five iron man figures. I think it all depends on what pleases you the most in this hobby.
Even if the new hot toys Joker figure is superior or just as good as the expensive one , that custom will still be amazing , I have a Leon figure made by Les and custom parts and even with the Enterbay on the way I'm keeping it and leaving it on display.

Just because a figure better or cheaper appears doesn't make the other worthless and if a collector wants to buy a figure to add to his collection regardless of the price simply because they like it and can afford it I don't see any problem personally.

haha! yah id like to know what a screen used suit goes for. I cant recall ever seeing one up for auction from Begins or Dark Knight.

I'm not a huge custom guy, but I gotta agree about the stock Batman capes. They suck. Every one of them that I've seen--OC Bats, TDK Bats, DX Bats--suck. lforigno's capes are cheap enough, and a major improvement IMO. More screen accurate, and just better looking.

I spent $750 on Rainman's Dude figure, and wouldn't hesitate to spend that much or more on a Marty McFly if he tackled him :monkey2

I have a bud who got into props about the same time I got into high-end collectibles. While the initial buy-in is not cheap, he's amassed a substantial collection through buying and flipping to buy more. For him, he hits up the backwoods auction houses and buys stuff for cheaper, then sells it to a more appropriate audience at 3-4 and sometimes 10x the price.
