I have a bud who got into props about the same time I got into high-end collectibles. While the initial buy-in is not cheap, he's amassed a substantial collection through buying and flipping to buy more. For him, he hits up the backwoods auction houses and buys stuff for cheaper, then sells it to a more appropriate audience at 3-4 and sometimes 10x the price.

cool. Yah i love movie props, but I have only bought Nolan's Batman Begins stuff. After Begins came out, I was like "I WANT THAT SUIT". Then did some research to find out if you could buy one and I came across the artist Bob Dullam. He is the one who built the 1:1 Tumbler with BobbyC's help. He also made the Batman Begins suit. So i contacted him found out the cost and saved money for about a year to pay for it. Then i stumbled across a entire on-line community that collects and makes replica parts to ALL the Batman suits. So some specialize in the Nolan suit Begins/TDK. So i wound up collecting all of the entire suit accessories and everything.

Its been a lot of fun. A lot of hassle too because your dealing with commissioning artists who make the stuff on their own time. So it take a long time to get all the pieces. Its been over a year and still waiting on a few items to be finished.

There isnt a ton of screen used stuff from Begins/TDK out there. Prop Store of London has some stuff, but not a lot. And anything from Nolan's Batman will go for a premium price.

If you ever watch SyFy's 'Holywood Treasure', its a really fun show to watch if you like movie props. I love that show!!!!

If I paid 1K for toy outfits my wife would cut my sausage off and sell it to a bangladesh restaurant.

Sounds like what my aunt does with her yard sale shopping.

HAHAHA:)

coolest things they have right now from Begins are the League of Shadows swords. hero and stunt versions. I think they had a C.Bale Cowl at one point.

they have a Terminator 4 John Connor jacket worn by C.Bale for $3500.
Actually not a bad price considering its from his wardrobe that he wore. When a big star has their costumes for sale, that stuff is usually very expensive. $3500 for a C.Bale jacket is pretty cheap.

Any idea what the Bale Cowl went for?

Those LOS swords look tempting :slap

What is it with noobs and mods and keeping on topic :dunno

Personally if I was interested in a suited Bruce Wayne I'd go all out and pick up a Kato suit. Exy I know, but hey, Bruce is a well-dressed guy.

Okay, Im not a "noob" in any way. I find that to be an insult.
And Im trying to keep on topic because everybody's been talking about the most irrelevant things like the Green Lantern movie and wrestling and I would like to discuss the thing that this thread was created for.

EDIT: Sorry Lejuan, I just read your post saying you were kidding after I posted this. No offense taken. :wave

The topic may stray a bit, but it always comes back. Rudely interrupting the natural evolution of a conversation with a post like yours is just as insulting. Not everybody has to be discussing what Wicket Toys wants to talk about, when he wants to talk about it. Didn't your mommy teach you any manners? :huh :monkey1

Youre so right, its wrong for me to stear a conversation back to what a thread was specifically created for. I thought we were going to be talking about a toy...but we should be talking about the Green Lantern movie.

You know its very ironic you would ask me about manners, when all you seem to do is go from thread to thread insulting people's posts. And the fact that you make me out to be a selfish person "talking about what I want to about", when at one point theres pages discussing wrestling...and your signature is Sergant Slaughter. :lol

Wicket Toys = No fun knewb with control issues and hence no sense of the forum culture nor any sense of local posters personalities.

Threads go off topic here and there. So long as they eventually get back on track and/or don't degrade into forums for members to bash one another then I don't see a real problem with it. I fear this current exchange may soon become the latter, however, and I really hope I'm wrong because I enjoy being friendly :)

I have no problem with the thread getting off topic here and there but if it gets to the point where people have to browse through 10+ pages of bullcrap to find something relevant, thats a bit out of control. And I dont want to argue with anyone. We're all here for the same thing...the love of toys. I dont usually become a rude person, but when Im insulted continuously Im not just going to ignore it.
So Nam, lets let bygones be bygones and just let it go.
