I have mix feelings about the rooted hair. I have one, I rarely comb my own hair much less this figure. I played around with it a few times and gave up. My girl tried to use some saloon crap but I just left as is. Personally I'd rather Imaresqd1 sculpted look. It's not supposed to look clean/straight. Rather greasy/nappy look.

Rooted or sculpted hair...we need more people to beg Hot Toys fix the hair color! C'mon guys... If the top 10 posters in this thread mention it for me, no way Hot Toys will ignore it! And Void... With all your custom Jokers... Can you ask Kato to pass the suggestion on to Hong? Lol

Because Widow and rooted hair looks ass and they know it, which is why they didn't want to do rooted hair on Widow to begin with. Again Thor has long hair and it's sculpted and it's going to look goofy displayed with Widow, a figure from the same license and movie.

Wait til Widow actually comes out and the product hair looks way worse then the prototype which is barely passable.

If they can make a regular MMS mass produced figure with rooted hair like this:

Don't see why they couldn't make an expensive DX figure something like this:

I think this one has sculpted and rooted hair.

Again, I'm not bothered by the sculpted hair on the Joker figure. Just saying.

Are you telling me it's unrealistic to expect a multi-million dollar company to compete with a custom artist.

:lol:lol:lol

Show me a custom artist that's mass produced a head sculpt with rooted hair in the 10's of thousands that all look like the pics you guys have been posting as examples and that will be the end of the debate. Go PM Bobby C and ask him how much of a pain in the ass just doing the hair for the 20 or so Joker heads he did was. And then ask him if he would be willing/have the energy and time to do that x 20,000+.

Every time I hear you guys make mentions like that is like saying: "It's unrealistic for a car company to put airbags on all those cars, they are mass produced in the millions"

Terrible example.

A more accurate comparison would be the difference between mass produced cars with stock factory paint jobs and a car that has a custom paint job with intricate pin-stripes and airbrushed images. There's a reason why the latter is called "Custom".

If they can make a regular MMS mass produced figure with rooted hair like this:

**PROTOTYPE PHOTO**

Because Widow and rooted hair looks ass and they know it, which is why they didn't want to do rooted hair on Widow to begin with.

Wait til Widow actually comes out and the product hair looks way worse then the prototype which is barely passable.

:lecture:lecture:lecture

Big difference between a one-off prototype (like a small amount of customs) and a mass produced figure.

Seriously.. why don't some of you guys go ask one of the custom artists on here how long it actually took them to do the rooted hair for their custom Joker head sculpts and then x that by 10's of thousands of figures. You'll see how stupid this debate is. :lol
