I don't think Hot Toys will give this Joker rooted hair. I mean I hope not. If he has rooted hair, I ain't buying it. Or I'll buy it and sell off the head.

It would really be a shame if the head sculpt is fantastic but it has rooted hair. That would suck.

I actually wouldn't mind the futzing associated with rooted hair. I had a lot of fun with the hair on MRM's head.

The problem is the way hair looks at the scalp.

Too thick.

Same problem with HT heads:

Nobody's hair is so think that you can't see any scalp. And in Heath's case he was thinning quite a bit:

The only Joker head-sculpt that has accurately represented that was Bobby C's, and that's because each hair was plugged individually - which would never happen with a mass-produced head.

The only other way to have scalp showing is to make traditional doll plugs, which look hideous.

Even the new Black Widow just looks ok. Nothing more. And you can bet your ass it will look like ____ when it hits your doorstep.

I think rooted hair is inevitable on v2.0...the clue being the photos in the teaser image. HT needs to differentiate this release from the original & I think the Kato clothes & rooted hair is their way of doing it.

T-1000 Sarah Connor had rooted hair. Sold her.

That's exactly what I did. I looked at it for a bit, tried to like, but couldn't. Kept the T-1000 donut head. :lol

I bet Catwoman has rooted hair. If she does, huge pass.

On a side note, when I saw the new Black Widow figure I thought it looked great, likeness and body wise. I went to the thread and people are whining about it.

Yep, same scenario with me too. I still have 3 T-1000's displayed, one being the donut head. Talk about a legendary release. Doubt we'll see something that large in value again (T-1000)

You pretty much nailed it man. Excellent observation. A lot of people throw in all the comparison and not think of that aspect. Its something that can be really appreciated when seen in hand. What differentiate it from other 1/6 headsculpt is realism.
I'm glad you caught on with that because people bash Bobby's all the time because of the price but not fairly make the comparison towards the other 1/6 Jokers.

As far as realism goes, Bobby's is a masterpiece. It has a real humanly qualities when seen in hand. A big part of it is the punched-in hair. It doesnt have the wig qualities that a mass produced figure would have.
I think the next evolution on figures is silicone with punched in hair.
Bobby actually mentioned that he approach Hot Toys and wanted to collaborate with them on this process but Hot toys turned it down. At the moment, its too time consuming and the price point is still too much.

You have seen the length of her hair right? ..rooted hair is the only option for Catwoman.

Never again. :monkey2 I bought mine for like 133.99 plus 14.99 shipping.

That was the end all be all of T-1000 figures. Now if the donut head actually came with that figure it would have been absolutely perfect.

I think there's no way this is having real hair.they are going to layer the hair, similar to thor and whiplash.I would personally like to see some real hair added.I think adam pretty much perfected that look, and imo it looks better than bobby c,s real hair.
