Thanks for the mini review that was really helpful. I think if this was not a DX, and was priced at 150 without the backdrop and diorama accessories I'd feel better. I know the extra money is due to the "DX" treatment with all the fancy packaging and diorama stuff, but a DX with "questionable" headsculpt just feels hard to accept fully.

Well from all your pics I see Harrison all the way. :yess::yess:

Manly from the beginning of Raiders as well.

Great photos.

Really what do people want its a toy!!:slap

Well to be fair its easy to cherry pick some shots that force the most out of a likeness. In hand you feel more like you're looking at an optical illusion. :lol

That's a very strange analogy. Nobody goes to Hot Toys' office or factory and announce to them how bad their product is.

No one actually looks a gift horse in the mouth either, but it's still an apt metaphor. Analogies, similes and metaphor are not designed to stand up to intense logical scrutiny.

Thanks for playing.

Well, now there's at least one of us who actually has it in hand that isn't quite thrilled with it, though it looks fine to me in those pics.

Man, I can't wait to have mine to see for myself. I can't recall a figure that had such wildly varying feedback. :lol

Thank you wofford. That was an excellent review. Very up-front and honest. It's good to hear a more critical POV from someone who actually has it in hand.

Thanks for the review Wofford29! :)

+1 on this bro.. agree with you.

LOL.. hahaha, well said. Lucky you, you got several Indy heads if you ever want to custom this one..

Thanks for the mini-review, Wofford. I'm not expecting much more than what you described, nice overall product that's brought down a couple notches by a less than perfect sculpt. I guess my normal 1/6th buying sensibilites have been thrown out the window in some regards. I want this because it's Indy, not because it's a Hot Toys release, so in that I can justify the shortcomings I suppose.

Nice shots and he looks solid enough. I actually like the pose quite a bit and thats close to what I was going to go with.

Great pictures wofford29, thanks for taking the time to shoot' em and post 'em. Its a great shame about the gap between the head and the neck .When the time comes I'll just have to angle the figure so that I can't see that.

Just got the figure in. My honest assessment below with some cell phone pics. Straight out of the box with just a little jacket futzing.

This figure really does look like Ford from some angles and then not even in the ballpark from most other angles. It really is bizarre in hand and I'm not entirely certain that you don't end up justifying some likeness in the end. This figure is all about presentation though and everything from the box and accessories are all top notch. I've owned just about every 12'' Indiana Jones that's been made and a lot of custom Indiana's as well. I would without a doubt say that out of the box this is by far the best available (despite likeness issues). The tailoring is actually pretty close to Kato's custom gear that I have. I would say that overall this is probably the weakest Hot Toys figure I own from a likeness perspective and in the end I'm not sure I will end up keeping it because you really do feel like you're compromising a bit when you really focus on the face from most angles. Overall, and as I'm sure most expected, this figure is a big mixed bag.

These are the photos and angle/s I think capture Harrison Ford when looking at the figure in hand.

From the side this is the ugliest figure I've ever owned. I mean, absolutely hideous. It's beyond awkward the way the head meets the neck and the gap between the chin and neck is absurd. I would definitely recommend displaying this where only the front can be seen. No detolf for this guy.

This is how I feel as well having seen two of these with slightly different sculpts. It only looks like Ford when you hide what is wrong with the sculpt which is the left nostril and wide jaw. At an angle looking at the right side of the face, I see Ford all the way. Turn the head and its not Ford anymore. Simple as that. It was a simple fix for them since this was pointed out way back before they started production. Hot Toys needs to listen to us more closely after they release any prototype sculpt.

So, you're asserting that everyone else who has it in-hand but is happy with the figure was being dishonest or is incapable of being critical?

:lol Man, I love this place.

I have to disagree, in this case, I think his analogy is incorrect, that's all. It's obvious, the differences of stating your mind in a factory/office and a public forum.

This isn't really a public forum, though. It has a private owner (Dave), rules, and management (Mods). People sometimes tend to forget this.
