As much as I like the Medicom figure I think this version looks even better and I'll be using whatever cash I get for my RAH on ebay to help fund the HT fig. I'd prefer the headsculpt to have a smirk on his face but even so it's a great likeness and the attire is phenomenal. I'd love to see HT release Davy Jones & Captain Barbossa to go with Jack & Sao Feng and would consider getting Elizabeth & Will too. I think the Medicom Vs HT argument is much more evenly matched than comparing either company with SSC as both are putting out some amazing stuff that far exceeds anything from SSC and in the end it's really down to which licenses you prefer.

From pics I still like Medis better, I'm not saying it's better, just what I like. I think they're equally as good, just different points. If I had to get one, I'd go Medi, BUT if HT made a Davey Jones....I'd get the HT one to match.
What I don't get is that Hot Toys got the license and Sideshow didn't. It seems pretty obvious from Dusty and others that they LOVE Pirates and are trying to get the license. Is the reason that Hot Toy's figures are 'models' and not 'figures?'

Zizzle has the toy license which doesn't preclude another company from getting the collectibles license. We saw both from Van Helsing.
And I can imagine that after working with Lucasfilm, Disney was just too demanding for SSC.

Sadly it could be out for months before/if SSC gets them, Rocky series 1 was out for like 3 months before the Sideshow announcement.
