I'm enjoying some of the news articles & posts about the figure on MJ fan boards. One news article said (before the price was known) that the price wasn't confirmed, but will most likely be $100 - $150. I had to have a little chuckle at that. And, it's also interesting seeing non-collectors trying to find out more about these 'Hot Toys'....lol. "So life-like", "Is it 2 figures, or do you swap the head or what?", "How do we get these?" - I'm not trying to make fun, I just find it interesting. It's like this hobby is an alien world to them!
This figure is a wallet killer.
If they would have made the Werewolf/Werecat thing he turned into at the beginning of the video as an interchangeable feature, I would have bought one. But I'll pass without that feature.
Yeah, but then they'd have to do a whole new outfit too, with the letter jacket. Probably asking too much, since you'd need to have the classic red outfit with this figure.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get another version with that, though.
Yup, the werewolf version is a whole other production in it's own right. You need the outfit with the letter jacket, a normal head, one with cat eyes, then the full wolf head and hands.
Should they label it a DX set?
All Hot Toys figures are wallet killers, unfortunately.
Or credit-killer, in my case. Oh well.
They used to be decently priced..i got my Rambo 3 from Toys2 for around $100 or like $110 and same for Hudson and quite a few of my military Hot Toys figures, and at that price with all the accessories..you don't feel bad at all that for what you pay.
On another note, I hope they use the first head on some future Michael version, it was too good not to be used.
Posted this in the other thread but thought I'd post it in the official thread as well...
I can say with about 99% certainty that after looking at the pics from Eddie's blog the "original" sculpt is in fact the same as the one being referred to as the "new" smiling sculpt. The angle and the lighting is giving the impression of a more serious look, but when compared to the "new" head at a very similar angle, I think it's pretty clear that there aren't and never were two heads.
er....
Those 2 are the exact same sculpt...
These are 2 completely different heads...
I don't see any difference in the hair, and I think if you tilted the head down a little lower like the one in the original poster it would look identical. I doubt they have two heads floating around, used the old one for the original poster, the new one for the solicitations, and then took the old one to the toy fair to display for everyone to see.
No look at the hair covering his forehead. One is more curly. Also the original has more 'puppy dog eyes'
