wow, I don't get it. well I get it, but I don't get it being funny.

some retailers actually have them at $200 each with billy being like $20 less.

also, I've been looking at some of those pics and I'm wondering how those mandibles attach. From the open mouth pics they look to be larger pieces of plastic.

I posted this in the official Predator 1 thread. Not sure if this is what Kapital is talking about, but this is the only problem I have with the HT P1 sculpt:

I think it looks fine, plus i don't want every pred to be exactly the same in the face

Which is fine, the only problem is: The Elder Pred from "Predator 2" was a modified P1. So other than minor differences (Extra bone trophies, different color scheme on the body/dreads, etc.) the Elder and P1 are the same, because it's the same suit. Just like ALL the Lost Hunters look like P2 with minor differences. Just like ALL the AVP predators look like Scar with minor differences. With 2 Predator movies and 2 AVP movies, there's essentially 4 original movie Predator designs: P1, P2, Scar and Wolf. That's it. Every other Predator seen throughout those 4 movies are derived from those 4 original Predators.

Again, if you don't mind certain differences that's cool, but some people do.

All I can tell straight away is that the area the nose would be in has been shortened.


...and I'd fell lame if they gave me a repainted P2 Elder head and said, "there ya go, $150 please."

Well looking at images, P2 elder may have been a base for the sculpt, but the forehead's definitely resculpted/newly sculpted.

Yup. That's it. Very minor but it looks more accurate and better imo.

Agreed. I understand that Elder predator was just a modified P1 in the film, but Hot Toys' new sculpt and body for the original predator is 100x superior to their elder pred. I'm so very glad they did not reuse the Elder predator.

I think the P2 Elder body is very well designed.

Of course there can be no true comparison with the P2 Elder and this newly enchanced body of the P1 until we have one in hand.

You're exactly right! I couldn't point what was bugging me but it's the mouth area. Elder 2 looks a lot more like the original Pred.

P2 elder is way too skinny. The new P1's legs are too skinny, but the body is finally appropriate. But you're right; can't really say until the final shipping product shows up.

The "nose" might be a little too long on the new P1 head, but I still like the look of the sculpt much more than elder P1, comparing only promo pics to promo pics. That could be accounting for his helmet looking a little large, too.

I also felt though that the costumes worn in the films were too bulky and clumsy looking especially when they were running. So a "skinnier" predator, at least to me, is more intimidating.

Wow, I swear I sat there staring at it for like an additional ten minutes thinking, "there has to be SOMETHING else different."

But I do agree, the mod is 100% dead accurate.

Hey now, he was supposed to be an older guy, we're lucky he didn't have a spare tire/keg for a gut.

Personally, I loved his design and build. Tall, lean, muscular, and pissed off. Scar and his buddies looked like bloated linebackers, whereas Wolf looked like a disciplined pit fighter....in my opinion, o'course.

I like the Wolf too and even if the movie was nowhere near Pred 1 or 2 standards he really rocked as far as a killing machine!

My ranking as far as sculpts so far that we have in hand are:

1. P2 Elder
2. P2 Non BD
3. Original Wolf

All the rest don't compare as far as I am concerned.
