HT P1, The Ultimate Predator?

Hello everyone!!
So, last night I was wondering about something...
Here's my current HT Pred Collection:

I love 'em all, but I'm beginning to think about shrinking my collection, and I'm thinking that P1 is definitely gonna be the best Predator, and the onve I've been waiting for since HT originally released the AVP Preds, so I might end up selling all of my other Preds minus P2 Elder and Machiko (awesome design!)...

I guess I'm exploring the possibility of owning only characters that represent my favorites franchises, and I think P1 fits the bill...
What are your thoughts? Will P1 be THE ultimate Predator?

It all depends on your preference. Personally, my favorite is P2. Movie wise: Better armor, better weapons, better color/design scheme and better head/face than the first Predator imo. As far as the HT figure, I'm happy with mine after the mods I did.

I'm still not overly impressed with the HT P1 to be honest. Don't like the face too much or the regular Bio with the big holes in it. I like the new light up feature for the Bio though. So it all depends.

To me the P1 is the best they've done so far as far as body proportions, the face may not be dead 100% accurrate. To me it's the best of the Preds in all the movies.

As far as figures, I think P2, Wolf or P1 are the tops, P2 at the bottom and that being because I felt all the Pre-Wolf preds were a bit off in proportions and with Wolf and now P1, they seem to be getting better and better with that.

Hmm. I would keep the P2 predator aswell if I were you. Why keep the elder predator from that film but not the 'hero' predator? By all means do keep the elder but to me the hero P2 pred would seem to go hand in hand not only with the elder but also the P1. They can be your representatives of the classic pre-AVP Predator franchise in your collection. Then I'm sure you'd have no shortage of takers for your AvP guys.

Also bear in mind that the P2 elder and P1 will look kind of similar what with their armour being the same. So I think you should keep the P2 to keep some kind of diversity.

My thoughts on the P1 are thus: The SS Exclusive is clearly the one to have firstly. Secondly it seems quicker and easier to point out what is wrong with it because it has far more good points than bad - its flaws to my mind are the overlong 'nose' area on the unmasked face and the fact that this predator, and any of them for that matter, just isn't tall enough compared to the human characters.

That's an awesome collection. I wouldn't sell any of them! The P1 is the icing on the cake though, he's the granddaddy of them all.

I had atleast 30 Preds, now I am down to 8, and the P1 will be the 9th.....This is gonna be a bad ass Pred fellas....

WOW! That display looks amazing. I wouldn't get rid off any of them. They all compliment each other. But if you must keep the P2 Elder for sure, best of them all. I'm love P2 so I would tell you to keep those also.

great display you got there dude, the pred 1 looks kickass, so far p2elder and p1 are the best preds imo, and if i had a display like yours i would not even consider selling them, they're all awesome!

I don't have any Predators, and am really only interested in P1 Pred as well. However, if I were you and had the P2 Predator, I would hold on to him as well. Don't care too much for the movie, but it would be nice having the main Predators from both movies. I wouldn't care too much for Preds that appeared on screen for 10 seconds, or for ones from those horrible AvP movies.

Don't get me wrong, I would take one if someone gave one to me, but I certainly wouldn't pay what they cost.

You're Hot Toys Predator collection is awesome. I wouldn't sell any of them at all. You're not lacking space and these are becoming more and more rare by the day. If you sell your AVP and P2 Preds, and one day you happen to stumble AVP or Pred 2 on TV, you're gonna get the urge to own those preds again. Keep them. Be proud of them like I am of mine.

I always hated the red cape on AVp Elder - get rid of him I would. Also Chopper, Celtic and Scar all look too much alike bar the masks so you could get rid of 2 of them.

I only ever intended to have the BD P2 and P2 elder and P1....I only love the original movies and never even wanted Wolf.

Hot Toys just announced a new line called "MMS DX". Essentially it's updated figures from previously released lines. The first up is the new Joker v.1 upgrade everyone is speculating about in the Cop Joker thread. Looks like HT fixed numerous things about the v.1 Joker. So now everyone is thinking what other figures HT will "upgrade". And since the v.1 wasn't released all that long ago (less than a year) people think this might become a new (bad) trend with HT: release an incomplete figure, release another figure you'll need to upgrade and complete that first figure and then release a MMS DX version that makes BOTH those first two figures obsolete all while raping your wallet until it cowers into a ball in the shower, crying under the falling water i.e. debt.
