Ok here we go....Ax2 a member on the toy-world boards has this to say:

(1) No difference on the body
(2) The chest piece for wave 2 is smaller and fits closer to the body
(3) Color of the suit is darker
(4) Shoulder armor is a better fit (closer fit to the arms)
(5) The patterns on the armor has better definition (he says the legs look skinnier for the wave 2 because the leg patterns are more obvious. This makes the legs look skinnier).

Overall he says you need to look pretty hard to spot the differences. No pictures because you need to have these in hand to tell the difference.

Not sure how I feel about this. Glad to hear that the body is about the same....but the smaller chest armor and shoulder armor still pisses me off a little. Why can't they just keep it the same. Hot Toys is just looking for trouble no matter how they spin it. Keep all the waves the same and there would be less trouble. Make either wave different than the other and there is bound to be people complaining.

Frick me! If that is true, then I am a little speechless, HT have actually given him a smaller chest piece?!?! That's quite a large mod to do after figures have already gone out to some.

If this isn't just hearsay, HT will have seriously gone down in my expectations.

Yeah Snake...maybe this is all hearsay. I sure hope so....I still have like 6-7 figures pre-ordered and they are all wave 1 :lol

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Toys2 have wave 3 up for pre-order,out in february. Not sure i should jump on it,i will buy an improved one,but its only a rumour at the moment...

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

my honest negative opinions about this figure:

both headsculpts are a bit off, he has man ****s, and the cape is on the short side

that's all :D

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I don't like the sound of the legs from that description. I think the legs look stunning as is.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

FINALLY got mine today, he looks great but as one would expect my gripes
the beer belly - its not just the overly big abs, but the rubber has also been made to suit that, and hence it gives the whole thing a bloated look from certain angles. the whole figure is also very overly buff, and i have a real problem with HEAPS of excess rubber on his left elbow join, its almost doubled over. its great to have all that extra in there when bending his arms, but with them straight, he looks silly imho. anywho, other than that, STOKED, will get some pics soon, i love this guy. Also, how are you guys getting your capes so flat, without the raised clips underneath them? i know its probably been asked and answered

Based on everything stated there, none of those changes hold much appeal to me, the chest armor, if it has to be seen to notice the difference and can't be seen in photos, it's probably minimal.

That said, if this is all true and legitimate changes have been made and not just a production variance, which HT is known for (Jack Sparrow skin tone variations), then bad form Hot Toys, bad form.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Last I heard from Leo was beginning Nov, that was as of 25 Oct. When did he say end Nov? Anyone who has received their TDK bats / other figure from goodshipped??

Well he told me beggining of nov last week but my bro asked this week and he said to him end of nov on the 28 or 29th but he ordered after me so it might be the second lot.
Are they reliable with pre orders then cause thats all im worryed about?

I don't know what to make about these issues, but it would appear like this was a beta or release candidate. Before they got it completely right.

Thats still bad practice. First batch of people get a beta type figure. It's one thing to do that with software, but you can't download new refinements/fixes for a collectable figure!

Plus...

It would also make sense why the final pictures are not on Hot Toys website, yet.

Don't know if you can see in the photos, but the beerbelly is kind of a non issue. I havnt done a thing to that Batman, that is straight out of the box, no head/neck mod, no belly mod, nothing. It's there, no doubt about that, but it's so strange, some poses and angles it sticks out like dog's ball's, and others, it is not evident.......AT ALL. It's almost like you can 'pop' it in, so to speak, when you're bending him at the waist. Either way, i'm pretty happy, it's a top, top figure
Also, what are you supposed to do with two batarangs?! nowhere on this belt for them

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Agreed. The belly button is just a question of moving the body. By default (out of the box) it has a belly. Fooling around you discover you can simply position the body articulation to be normal posture. You can even feel some emptyness in that area of the rubber suit and push it a little inside with your finger. No need at all to sand the body. The only mod really necessary is the head/neck. It makes a big impact. cheers!

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

i'm having a bit of trouble "snapping" tdk cape in place....help!!!!

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

This is what mine looks like....Batman has a gut!!!!! On mine it looks even more pronounced and it's distracting. Otherwise, I think it is a great figure. I don't know if I will have the courage to customize it though.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Dude just push the belly in and at the same time pull his upper body out (as if he were doing a crunch) and it should disappear.
