Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Adding some grease on the hand peg (not the peg to the arm) makes it a lot easier to switch hands. I switch mine very often and no issues at all. Just know what you are doing and not twisting the peg the wrong way. You won't break or stress it, especially now you know about the problem.

yeah thats another problem i'm having now. i cant even get the pegs off of the hands. why can't they just put pegs on every hand??? what a pain.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I've actually gone that route. Two pegs would be fine if A) the insert on the hand was the smaller, more Sideshow style connection, and B) the gloves didn't cover around the ball of the joint so much, but both are true so it's a pain. I actually bought two pairs of pins off eBay to solve the issue. They're flesh tone, but the armor should conceal that so it's a non-issue, plus I think I'll primarily use the fists as most of the time he fought in this suit, he was punching.

I knew the problem before hand, so I kept the arm peg connection pretty tight (or you can add a tiny sheet of plastic wrap to add friction, just don't over do it to make it too tight, since the peg don't like stress). When the peg came off with the hands, I just used my front teeth to grip the peg's grooves (don't bite on it, or you'll dent the peg, pliers too can bend the plastic, so not recommended) and give it a firm straight pull. It should come off the hands (Some people twist and pull when the ball joint is bent 90 degree. It works most of the time, but it risk stressing the peg. Others use blowdryer to soften the hands before pulling, but its a hassle to blowdry everytime). Then I apply grease (and sand/shave down the hand peg a little if necessary). Now, both my ball joint stays on the arm all the time when I change hands. But they can still be removed from the arm easy enough if I needed to. Again, the grease on the hand peg really helps.

I got a couple extra wrist ball joints from my older HT figures/parts. But don't really need them after I did the grease trick. Just save them as spares.

I don't have the guts to put grease on any of my figures. I am too scared to even use my teeth for the pegs...:google

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I was inspired after seeing that A4 card, but since I only currently own 3 at the moment.

I wish they copied Takara with a lot of things such as this. Every hand came with the pegs. Those are one of the most easiest to swap out. That you also don't start to enter panic mode while pulling it out.

As that is one of the worst things when something is new with these joints, so damn tightly stuck in usually.

I don't have the guts to put grease on any of my figures.

Vaseline would also work. Perhaps with a sewing needle to feed it in.

Nice Work :clap

Gracias.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I just picked up this amazing figure from Toys2 today..wave2 i believe..seems the chest plate is more flush to the chest then some of the older pics i have seen up..but, who knows..maybe i just adjusted mine more..the cape was a bit of a ^^^^^ to plug in on the left side but, got them both in flush and the cape sits great..almost better then my DK BB V2 figure.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

For me with the figure the chest has some room to be smaller. It shows that they just used a smaller chest piece because the rubber suit doesn't actually go in smaller since it was made for the larger chest size.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Also have to mention, no need for a neck mod on mine..his head tilts down pretty far actually...as far if not farther then my V2 BB/TDK fig.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Small chest, big chest, no chest, what chest, i dont care, but i do love my figure, (he is v1 i have checked, assuming that the v2 is legit) and i think he's just fine.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

2nd pic is wicked. Huge cape looks great like that. :D

Have you made your own photo box? or just good old fashioned florescent lamp and A4/A3 paper...

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I have a phototent i got for cheap off of ebay, just a big collapsable light tent for photography, i only recently dragged it back out again and started using it.

Here's one more, trying to capture shadows and light:

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Nice. I was thinking of getting one since it comes with a camera stand and the lights. Plus the fact that it folds away. Not sure how good the lights are though on these things. Holding the camera at times from not getting the shakes is becoming rather hard.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Finally got mine in today. Still don't like the cowl sculpt, but other than that and the fact the body on mine feels really loose it's okay overall.

I would like to know whoever the jerk is at Hot Toys that thinks these new stands are a good design. I'd like to take them out back and beat them with a rubber hose.

Yeah, those stands are real bad. Don't use them at all, but just want to experiment with it the other night and had TDK using it. Put the hook to lowest possible spot to minimize the tension on the rubber. And had Batman standing good, barely leaning on the stand. All it takes is a few hours and there are dents on one of the inner thighs and one on the back. Took quite a bit of massaging on those 2 spots to get them back to normal.

I'll never ever use those stands on Batman again.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Ive took the stands off and just have them standing on there own two feet on the bases.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I find it shocking the amount of certain individuals that have so many issues with these stands, yet still don't read about these discussions from the past few days/weeks/months. Yet it always, always keeps on coming up.

It needs to until they're changed.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Do you guys have the metal part of the stand pushed down all the way? I haven't had any problems with my stands. Batman's thighs are touching the stands but there isn't any force applied on the suit whatsoever.
