Well. They contacted the licensor, and than decided to go unofficial. It was not hard to find them and make it known to them that they could not do that.
There are custom project shut down by licensor because they found a threat here at SSF, and it is much easier to trace you if somebody posts your pics all across the facebook (and they know you were looking for licence).

Is this fact or theory? After all they have a track record of disappearing and reappearing.

I wonder if they could get around the legalities of the situation by selling it in packs ... like one pack that's just the clothes, another that's just the weapons & gear and a third that's just the head. They could argue that the head is a "generic" Keanu likeness, so it wouldn't be movie-specific (even though it totally is).

It's only a matter of time before the powers-that-be come sniffing around again. I wonder if Iconic can get these into our hands within six months.

even better, if you setup 3 companies and release each pack under different companies. and have the vendors offer them in special bundled sets. this way those wanting to get just the outfit/head/body can opt for the single pack. the only issue is you have 3 packages and have to assemble the figure yourself.
