No this head sculpt will not be painted. Sunohc is sculpting it, and does not paint his sculpts. I'll go ahead and add you to the list of interested board members batfan08. If you change your mind, let me know. Thanks! :wave

Well, Sunohc is planning on sculpting the hat on to the head permanently. It will be a one piece sculpt. So the hat will NOT be removable. He said it should be $33.00 before shipping costs. Here's a quote from Daniel Cho aka Sunohc from page 6 in this thread...

"Right now my regular prices for head sculpts are $33 plus shipping. You can let people know of that price since it will remain constant this summer."

Yeah, it is IF that is what Sunohc keeps it at that price. Since this may be a "special case" with the hat on the head, I don't know yet if his price will change any with adding the hat to the head sculpt. I'm sure if it does change, he will let me know.

Well, I've been sending PMs to Daniel (Sunohc), and he said that he will post on here later exactly how much this special sculpt for us will cost. He hasn't started on it yet. He's got other work ahead of our project right now.

I'll send him a PM soon, and see if there is an additional charge for the sculpted hat on the hat, or not. I'll let everyone know after I've talked to Daniel about it.

On this board there are MANY great painters! Board members like:
kuato
Les Walker
Sovereign Studios
BlindVoyeur
Spenser

to name a few that I know off of the top of my head.

Hi batfan08. I think you should send a PM or e-mail to the board member that you want to paint your John Marston head sculpt. They will be able to give you their price for painting it.

Sorry for not adding you to our list sooner mystolle. You're on it now! Thanks for your interest!

You're not too late to be on the list cadaver202. Sunohc told me last week that he hasn't started sculpting our John Marston custom head sculpt yet.

Hirogen has A.J. still stopped taking orders? I really wanted that "oiled duster" coat from her! It was going to be perfect for my John Marston figure. I'll try and contact her, and ask her soon.

Hirogen, you can find a few of the 1/6 scale cowboy hats from Newline Miniatures over at www.toyanxiety.com. The black hat there would be a good choice for John Marston. But remember that Sunohc is going to cast a hat on the head for us. The hat won't be able to come off of his head, but I know it will look great! Sunohc NEVER disappoints! :)

Yeah, this is posted on her homepage,
YIKES! I'm booked full right now and have stopped taking new orders!

I wanted to get another hat for a different Western figure, that's why I asked. Thanks for the tip!

Does anyone know how the heck to get a poncho for Marsten? I would consider making one but I have no idea how to do that. The fabric might be easier to find but how would one get the tassle material on the ends? I wonder if a Western Clint Eastwood figure has been made? It wouldn't match Marstens, but a good place holder until one can be sourced.

Okay, well maybe A.J. will start taking orders again someday soon. I'll keep checking with her, because I definitely want her brown "oiled duster" coat for my John Marston figure someday.

As far as a poncho, I have no idea who makes them. You can try to ask Steve at www.stevostoys.com. He makes a lot of different western outfits, and could possibly make you a 1/6 scale poncho. I don't think there's a western Clint Eastwood figure...yet. But I'm sure guys have kit-bashed one already by now. Look in the customs section on the board here. Also, a decent "stand-in" poncho is the Tatooine farmer poncho that the Sideshow exclusive Star Wars Episode I Qui-Gon Jinn figure came with. I have him with the poncho on. It's a light brown one, but would do as a stand-in for you Hirogen. It doesn't have tassels on the edges of it, but it's a poncho all the same. Just an idea I had for you. :wave

I plan on getting that brown duster too for my Marsten. I am also making a Legend of the West Marsten outfit for another figure. The great thing about this figure is if you make the base outfit you have the option of throwing on a few extras for an entirly new outfit.

Thanks for the idea about teh Star Wars Poncho, what's funny, is I think I own that figure too. :slap.

Just wanted to say thanks for helpful tips. I also belong to the OSW and I asked for help locating a desert drop holster and I actually got a few negative responses, like it was a pain to help out a new collector to the 1:6 world.
