I never collected anything but 1:6. I became more selective due to organization / display and not the economy. PF, dio etc. are too large for my taste. Until the kids leave and I regain control over my basement, I'll be fine playing with my little dolls.:lol

That said everyone bailing on the 1:6 line who have the following for sale:
Medicom Jedi Luke Skywalker
Medicom Superman
Hot Toys Superman 2 in 1

If you have reasonable prices, lets talk :naughty

I honestly try to stay with Sideshow Marvel PFs ONLY. Now, I do own the Ghost Rider Comiquette and the soon to be Iron Spider-Man Comiquette, but that's pretty much as far as it goes. I also have the Buffy the Vampire Slayer PF series from Sideshow, but it's only 4 PFs in all. So after I completed that set, I said no more other than Marvel. Keeps my wallet happy and honestly makes my office A LOT more uniform, seeing how I stayed consistent with the "PF" theme.

I'm waiting for the New Star Trek movie to come out so I can unload some of my old Star Trek stuff. Hopefully they'll be more of an interest then.

The key word here is being 'Selective' with our purchases...This was a peak year for me collecting wise, mainly due to Hot Toys. Money isn't an issue for me but realising there are more pressing priorities in my life is. I've got my pre orders bought and paid on ebay, a couple of SS things and then i'm out.......

I'm not quiting any time soon but I do buy alot less than I use to.

I'd will say that I am spending about half of about what I was spending before.

I pretty much only buy thigs that are a must have for me. Im pretty picky when it comes down to buying collectables. If I can pass on it I will.

at the start of this year I was determined to get all of the Aliens Marines...and I did, now I have sold them all apart from Ripley. Why? because I realised that they all look pretty much the same and I like to have a variation in my collection. I'm definatley slowing down now, and either selling off, or putting into storage some pieces that were impulse buys, or I have lost interest in.
with Indy and Lara on the way, I think that will be it until Harvey Dent. after that I'll just have to be alot more selective and have more self control.

Boring month for me anyway,HT`s new newsletter had nothing interesting for me so thats a good start:lol

The economy has taken it's toll on a lot of us. I have started my scaleback with not ordering the Stormtrooper Commander. No matter what happens, I am getting Snake Eyes & CC!!!!!

Eh. It's a fun hobby and I'm still into it (despite the economy)... but I could walk away from it in a heartbeat if I had to.

What I do is build up a bit in savings and buy something and then save and buy something. I'm def not buying as much as I used to because I really can't afford to waste any money on things that aren't of importance.

So I'm cutting all neca figures from my list of "to get" things. I'm only getting SS or HT items with my money until the dollar value goes back up. I can't afford neca SS and HT and since SS and HT are the best and have nicer stuff,I've gotta cut neca.

I am in the process of selling off most of my collection. With grad school in the fall and the rising costs, this hobby is getting a bit too expensive. I'm also losing interest in it as well. Guess I am just getting too old.:lol

I could as well. I don't want to though. Being very selective lately is helping me, and i think it will help me endure. Buying ^^^^ like Ki-adi, rebel fleet troopers and ^^^^ is just meh to me anyways so it helps. I think the key for me at least is only getting stuff that makes me get a hard on,(HT IM for example) and say to myself " i really really want that" if i don't say that to myself i don't need it bad enough.

In my experience, if you say you're going to quit. You'll be back. Truly quitting means you've lost interest and it's not even worth making an announcement.

I'm actually buying more 1/6 than ever. The prices are nuts but the quality has never been higher. In order to pay for some of the new stuff, I'm forced to sell of a lot of my collection. I'm clearing out lots of Marvel legends and DC Direct and using the paypal for preorders. Doesn't hurt as much that way.

If the dollar rate goes down then yes i will be back off course. But to buy the stuff i really want i must let go of some stuff. The Exchange rate is the reason im going this way,and it affects alot of people lately.

With the Canadian dollar being so low now, I have not made any purchases in a long while…I have temporarily stopped I guess...I am looking for good deals to pop up on the items I really, really want and then I will bite.
