I'm not against re-releases or whatever, but I think that's a very difficult statement to justify when you increase the edition size on something, because it's explicitly affecting the most basic predictor of value--a function of supply and demand (supply goes up; demand goes down when more are made). Hot Toys re-released their Mark IV figures along with an expensive diorama. It was still costly to obtain these new figures, but because they were re-released, the value of the original figures went down.

Actually I'm not joking... You asked Wake if they were upgraded boots which was fine but when he said no you come back with "Instead of upgraded boots, would more accurate be a better description". Obviously if they are more accurate that would be an upgrade, so what are you getting at? Pointing out your dislike for the original boots is obvious which led me to feel you are suggesting that the original buyers aren't getting the upgrade the trio buyers will be, hence my conclusion of "stirring something up"

I think Wake is referring to the cost Denny will charge to get the trio with the Cowboy included. However, normally adding more supply to anything doesn't protect value.

I am a bit lost here. I respect that people bought this before and al but protecting value should not be Denny's job. At that given instance there wasn't a plan for the trio, whoever bought it bought it. I am getting a bit confused as wake says "value will be protected" its like we will be charged more for exactly a similar product just cause its value has gone up or it's sold out. i think denny and team should focus on art! Protecting value is not and should not be the objective. If people plunge for 3 figures in one go, why should they pay more on that one specific figure if the value went low would the rerun be cheaper than original? I doubt that...

I'd just consider it a "late fee," if you will. I doubt the extra cost will be anything substantial, and it'll probably be a lot less than getting the figure on the secondary market.

. At best what should be done is the discount the trio set would draw cause people buy all 3 in one go should probably reflect for people who have bought blondie before and plan to buy just the other two this time. That is a better decision than giving something less or ensuring a higher price just cause someone missed or dint buy this before. Also, if there is a higher price than the figure should come with something extra or special. Hot toys announced robocop and many bought it. Then they announced a version with different head sculpt. I cried a lot when they announced that. It pains but that does not mean i expect hot toys to "protect my investment" i bought something its my problem whether the cost in market increases or decreases.

There are only apprx 10 of the re-release Cowboy happening. At least that was the original idea. So i'd say only apprx 10 full trio sets.

As far as protecting the value.................. Originally 50 full sets and 35 DX. If your going to go back on that, then i guess the higher price is a sweetener.

Personally i don't care if they made a million Cowboy's, and it's great to see everyone get what they want, but the more you look at it, i honestly can't see the point of the re-release of the Cowboy.

A few have been sold both on ebay and on forums, so they do come up. If only another 10 are made, will it really make that much difference. Consider then, that most see a new pair of boots as an upgrade, so do the original buyers miss out on those...?

There is also to consider what makes up the trio set...? Will it be three individual figures or all three in one special box...? I know if it's three in one box, there will be people who already own the Cowboy, that will be trying to score a complete set for that reason alone.

I'll just go with the flow, and see everything unfold, but if the business model is going down the Hot Toys route.....................

Can i start a petition for:
Demon re-release.
Keaton re-release.

Missed out on these and don't fancy paying the higher prices they now command...........................

Yes they will be available on their own. Nothing to worry about with those.

The trio set was just a sweetener for the Cowboy re-release.

To be honest here, the more you think about it the more it just confuses people and is really pointless.

In my opinion a much better way to have tackled it would be re-release the head sculpt and clothing set.

You can buy those bodies and gun rig and also those boots. The only things you can't get is the spurs, and snake grip pistol, but i'd put money on aftermarket versions of those will be made at some point.

Some of us would love to have the trio set. With just 10 the chances are so low that many of us would even get these!. Lastly who would want just the duo and no cowboy? So if the objective is that only the ones who bought cowboy should buy the rest of the two then i guess the message is clear. But if the objective is to see as many fans can have this piece of art - my view definitely more than 10 sets would be needed. I personally dont see the value decrease if they made 30 more. I am just saying cause how many of the ones who own one are selling? For 2 or 3 sellers to retain short term so called value, why should others suffer ... I think the best way could be to open an interest list and let's see where it lands cause otherwise we are looking at just 10 more fans getting this beauty

Dude relax man you'll see one eventually in the F/S thread. You can't win them all in this hobby and if you think an artist is going to halt other projects just to accommodate 1 person you got it all wrong.

May be i came across wrong. See i dont want just cowboy. I am a bit tired of having my collection like incomplete from a series perspective and then there are multiple figures of same characters cause thats what most companies do custom and or the likes of hot toys. So, sets like these are always tempting. So if in a forum just cowboy is available at the same cost as when it was launched, i would still probably give it a pass. The fact that it will be a trio drives me ... Sorry if i came across otherwise.
