Question: is the bulkiness caused by the thickness of the undershirt and the tunic? They look kind of thick from the pictures.

That's what is happening yup. I think the black shirt should have only had the collar and sleeves sewn into the coloured shirt.

On the stock body you can't even out the arms anywhere close to the side due to the ZCWO body and rhe massive bulk in the armpits.

Yes, what Ray said. I don't know why they either didn't do just a dickie for the black shirt or use the slim bodies, which make it look much more natural.

Oh well, I'll be modding mine soon. Should be unnecessary for the price point.

The decision to use separate shirts was predicated on the outcry from SSF members who wanted it that way.

I remember one person clamoring for the black shirt look.

You're damned if you do or you're damned if you don't I guess.
I applaud Denny and crew for even doing these. You're never gonna please everyone. Especially in the lower run/ higher cost custom arena.

Opening tricorders and communicators would have been nice though.

I agree and remember that, so iminime is not completely at fault here. Actually I think it was the outcry of one guy lol. Which is why I advocate that sometimes it's better to leave it to the pros to handle how their manufacturing best dictates .

So true, like my pal Nanjin I have mad respect for someone stepping up to the plate and actually delivering Trek figures when Howard Chan is going around slamming Trek but making things like Lone Ranger.

The only other crew member from AOS I'd like would be Uhura. I think iminime could do a bang up job on her and see her as more of a central character than Bones and can't get behind a white Khan still even though the movie was OK, sorry it just does not work for me.

When it comes to TOS TNG and DS9 though I would love all of it.

There's just something a little weird about the shape of kirks head but I don't think it's awful, it's just weird or me that after swapping to a full on slim body which works for like three characters out of a hundred, they STILL look too buff!

I think it's the forehead/top of the head that are just too big. Makes his noggin look like a watermelon, and it also makes his features look all squished in the middle.

I personally love these figures, both of them. To be honest, the photos with the swapped slimmer bodies look too scrawny to me but to each his own.

To me Spock looks pretty much perfect, Kirk's huge mellon makes the body look scrawny. Maybe Kirk should stay on a regular body? But then they would look off next to each other, right? Spock is taller than Kirk, right?

I really like the fact that there is an actual undershirt, it's somehow pretty cool. Too bad the thickness of the fabrics make the appearance so bulky.
If I'd had the dough, I would've probably pulled the rigger on these. Now all I can do is hope I can afford Nanjin's.

Back when Into Darkness was just coming out the radio station I listen to had their movie review guy on, and he was (hilariously) shrieking about how Chris Pine scares him because his face starts too far down on his head. :rotfl It's kinda true... You can definitely see it when they're in figure form! ROFL.

I just received the pair....overall very pleased. A few nitpicks but nothing too damning from my perspective. I am hoping for Bones and perhaps Scotty to round out the set.

Could anyone take a photo from the angle where Kirk apparently doesn't look like, well, Kirk? I'd like to see what people consider the most unflattering angle, as I'm still trying to decide if I wanna try and hunt one down or not.

Follow that ebay link. He doesn't look like Pine in any of the four there.
I'm sorry I missed these because, as a Trek fan, I want them. But for the price there should be no need to switch bodies, retailor shirts, etc...
If it was one or more than one clamoring for a full black under shirt, as soon as it was seen during assembly what the drawback to it was it should have been posted that it bulked up too much in areas and it was being switched to fit correctly but still appear accurate.
No opening tricorder or communicator for this price is almost unforgiveable. Hell, Barbie's communicator opened.
I've been a 1:6 collector for 40+ years and I don't think I'll ever understand these great ideas being put out in extremely limited, extremely expensive quantities and then NOT being so perfect.
You wouldn 't buy an expensive, limited edition sports car then go home and change the paint scheme or the seats.

Im not sure you understand the cost of producing these.

I purchased both from a board member on Sunday, I dawdled around and waited too long to order direct from Cinemascale. I will post pictures of these when I get in hand. I have to agree with Wake though, these must cost a lot to produce. I just hope Wake that you and the rest of the fans can convince Denny et.al to produce a Uhura, Bones and Scotty:)
